A new parrothead bar has opened

Post by big john »

Of interest to any future visitors to south central Pennsylvania.
The "Parrothead Bar" has just opened in Marysville, along routes
11 and 15 in Perry County just northwest of Harrisburg.
First of all, I have no financial involvement in the place, I don't know
the owner or the people who work there. I just thought this would be
of interest to parrotheads traveling through the area. The place is all
decorated with Buffett stuff and is alot bigger inside than it looks from
the outside. They just opened last week and I just thought I'd help
get the word out. :pirate:

Any idea how far away from the Carlisle Fairgrounds that would be? I go to Corvettes At Carlisle every August, and if it's not too far away, sounds like a good spot to stop and visit.

A little too far from Pittsburgh to make the detour enroute to the concert. Too bad, would have been a cool place to stop.

We got pavilion seats the day they went on sale. They are last row so not much better than lawns. Would consider a deal if I could sell them and get a couple lawns.

Not yet, but they have been printed so they are coming soon.

I guess we should stop hijacking poor Big John's thread. We'll talk in the Pittsburgh thread.

Cool, Thanks for the heads up! I'll stop in next time I'm upriver.
Any takers on a pool as to when the "Copyright Cops" show up with legal papers in hand?

Off the top of my head, it can't be more than 12 to 15 miles. I do the "Brit" car show.

From the Carlisle Fairgrounds take 11 north to I-81. Take I-81
north to the Enola-Summerdale exit (exit 65). That puts you right
on 11-15. Take a left (north) onto 11-15 and the place is about
2 miles up the road at the square in Marysville. Look for the flagpole
and the palmtree lights. On the way up the river you'll pass Rockville
Bridge which is the worlds longest stone-arch construction bridge
(Guiness Book of World Records). If you keep going you'll see a model
of the Statue of Liberty in the middle of the river.
I don't know what the food is like at the Parrothead, but if you're really
hungry and don't want to spend much, go in the opposite direction on
11-15 about a mile from where the interstate is and you'll find a little
place called Nathan's Cafe. Really, really good chow and a good looking
and friendly all-female bar and waitress staff. It's just past a PNC Bank
on your right. Tell them "Big John sent me". :pirate:

Doesn't sound like it'd be a bad day trip from Maryland. Got an address or contact info?
