And even more from my trip in the Way-Back Machine....
Quisp and Quake cereals, just saw these being discussed somewhere recently, may have been here at BN. Also, at my local Wally World the other day I saw Boo Berry, FrankenBerry and Count Chocula! It's been forever since I've seen 3 of the monster cereals on the shelves. Staying on the junk food track, I used to love MilkShake candy bars, searched for them on the net recently only to find they are long gone

And then I start remembering some of the concerts from back in the day. Here's some of the shows I went to:
Jay Ferguson (sang Thunder Island)
Starland Vocal Band
Wild Cherry
Roger Whittaker
John Denver
Mac Davis
Lawrence Welk Band and Dancers
Society of Seven (Hawaiian nightclub act)
Don Ho
Billy "Crash" Craddock and the Continental Fins (sang Rub It In)
A wide musical spectrum, to say the least!

OMFG!!!
When my parents went to Hawaii in 1974 they brought me back one of their LPs! Hip stuff for the time!
Right now I can sing most of "99.8" and "Dr. Sen".
I can't remember if I'm supposed to buy milk, but I've got plenty of space in there for this crap!

Spiders and Snakes was Jim Stafford.......my husband STILL sings that song to me.....
mac davis was "Baby, Don't Get Hooked on Me"
and I have to concur with your evaluation of "Play that funky music"....
I've always thought John Denver is to the mountains what Jimmy is to the beach.....

Yep. Mac had the TV show and wrote the song about it's hard to be humble. I like your anaolgy about John and Jimmy. Read someplace their mutual friend was Steve Goodman. Makes sense somplace they hung out and played music.
