Just called back... left a few voicemails for people... hope to hear back on a date... I'll update if I get any info on whether it's the 29th or the 30th... the 29th doesn't make sense, but stranger things have happened.
I kind of ignored this as being crazy for the first few posts. Now I'm getting hopeful and excited as regular posters are sounding more positive. Boardwalk hall is pretty big if I remember right.
I can't believe it wouldn't be on the beach though. I've seen the Beach Boys on the beach in AC twice. It was nice.

Cool. Thanks.

Boardwalk Hall Information
Venue: Boardwalk Hall
Location: 2301 Boardwalk
Atlantic City, New Jersey 08401
United States
Capacity: 12,000
It's pretty small, not a bad venue. I see the tix in the $200.00 range though. They do have bigger acts there but at a cost.

If I remember correctly, that's smack in the middle of the Boardwalk so it will be close to most hotels there.

This would certainly solve my dilema about Camden. I hope this is true.

Would be nice though!
Although I HATE driving to the Jersey Shore on what amounts to 4th of July week(end)!
HIGH hotel rates, lots of traffic and tons of crowds.
That's true. The only issue is that the traffic in that part of the GSP and ACE, are not that bad. The only place where it will be that bad is the part of the ACE right after the tolls.

I wonder what the tailgating situation would be. You could put together a nice beach party beforehand. But ugg. I never leave my island on weekends, esp. the fourth. My place is where other people go to that weekend.

In the building's 500-foot long main auditorium is the world's largest pipe organ and in its ballroom is one of the largest theatre-style organs ever built
Maybe we can get Micheal Utley to play it

There are not that many open parking lots for this. Maybe they'll allow us to use the parking lot for the baseball stadium and have a shuttle that goes there. Most are garages for each of the hotels. Maybe one of them will have a party beforehand.

Oh my!! That place is soooo old, dark and dirty. I sat for my state nursing boards there is 1979 and it was old then. Uh oh...I guess that means I'm soooo old! I wonder how much AC has changed in 28 years?
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

The hall has been renovated since, if you haven't been back since 79 the city has changed a great deal also.
