call in sick for a JB concert (or any other concert for that matter.)? I was just looking at the ticket exchange and thought...hhmm..I'd like to go to that concert, but the only way I could attend is to call in sick. Personally, I'm a little superstitious about calling in sick when I'm really not. Just the time I do, something bad will probably happen just to put me in my place.

I'm a big believer in mental health days....
that said, I can't call in sick for shows.... people I work with have seen my picture on line at a show, circled my face, and sent the picture to my boss....
If I called in sick on a JB show day, they'd want proof that I was in intensive care, in the hospital....

last year I was just fooling around on TM the day before the cincy show and scored a pair of 10th row seats...being that I was still recovering from a Pittsburgh hangover at that time, I felt that it would only be a 1/2 lie to call into work right then and there to say I was sick...went to the show and it was a blast as usual. Haven't been found out yet...hope my boss isn't a lurker on this discussion board though!

For sure. But I'm a teacher so it's pretty easy to do so. We don't need excuses, we just call in and they get us a sub. So in a way I was doing some else a favor by giving them a job for a day.

Nope
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

No- but my company is cool about letting you use sick time for a planned vacation day if you don't actually have vacation time accrued.

Well we don't get 'sick days', you know.
And everyone knows I'm a JB fan, so IF a show ever comes back, they know I'll take PTO for it. And other shows I've been to were out of state, and took pre-approved time off for them.
