I thought LandShark Lagar Isn't National Yet...

Post by SouthernSeas »

I went to a BBQ last night with a 12 pk of Corona because Margaritaville Myrtle Beach wouldn't sell me any packs for the party. Here, they told me that LandShark wasn't national yet. But wait...it all gets better.

Got to the party, and one of my friends told me he saw some LandShark drink at the gas station down the road. I told him he was wrong that it isn't National yet, that the beer is doing rounds in Florida. He told me that I should go visit the gas station -- told me he would slip me a $100 bill if it wasn't sold there.

So I took off a mile down the road to the store, and guess what I found. LandShark Lagar is being sold at a gas station in Myrtle Beach!! I had to buy 2 6 pks in cellabration. I am going to investigate this more in my spare time to see who all is selling it. But yeah folks, it is safe to say that LandShark Lagar is selling mainstream in Myrtle Beach now.
Sunset Beach is my Margaritaville. Where there is endless beach, no time, and sunshine that seems to last forever. I know that Someday I Will.....Someday.

You still can't get it up here so not yet national but I think they are slowly releasing it to other states.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

I also got some this weekend in Myrtle and wondered the same thing! I found it at one of the "discount" beverage stores. I think I paid $7.89 per six pack! The store was advertising it on their billboard and we did a quick U-turn and went back!

seems a bit high. That's more than we pay here for Negra Modelo, and that is a lot better beer.

I ate at M-ville Myrtle Beach today ( driving through and wanted to stop by) and The waitress said that they were in gas stations around Myrtle Beach.... Bad thing is I'm not 21 and have no fake so I couldn't stock up... Instead I'll have to wait until they're available in Georgia and have some friends buy more for me!

Tried one. It's ok but nothing to write home about.

That's what the stores in the FL keys were charging in Feb.

Copy that...I had my first, probable last bottle at Margaritaville Cafe in New Orleans.

Let's put it this way...I won't BUY another bottle. But, we all know that free beer is good beer...

I was at Margaritaville Orlando last week and had a few Landsharks. I thought they were good enough to drink 4 of them.

Tastes pretty much the same as Corona --side by side I might not be able to tell the difference. Picked up a pretty cool LSL t-shirt too.

It LOOKS like Corona and is marketed to compete with it, but really they taste nothing like each other!
I've tried them back to back at home without a lime, and Corona has a very distinctive taste, while Landshark does not.
Some of you have grown to adore that uniquly Corona finish, but not me!
With no lime available, I'd take the more neutral Landshark any day!
Back to back with a plain old Bud, who knows.
I'll offer my friends a blind taste test here between those three and a REAL beer next month.

My guess is that they all will identify the "real" brew easily.
The Corona should be simple as well.
My intent is to see if blind without ever having heard of Landshark (they haven't as of yet, except from me), whether they will prefer it over the Bud or not.

LSL is available in Panama City Beach, at prices comparable to those listed above.

At that price, it's almost a souvenir, not a regular bottle of brew.

LSL is still $7.49 a 6 pack.

Import prices for a import beer, and yet its brewed in Jacksonville. Yikes. Its a decent beer, but it shouldn't cost so much.

Think of the beer as a better tasting corona, b/c we all know corona's taste like crap...LSL is a little bit better.
