YES....how could you possibly beat Jimmy Stewart and The Duke in the same movie! (just looking at the poster makes the theme song run through my head)......
Actually, I was raised on westerns as my Daddy was a huge John Wayne fan.....I still love watching them....old war movies, too....

I think my favorites are:

John Wayne & The Cowboys
True Grit
and
Jeremiah Johnson
I almost listed JJ too, but thought it was too pre-western. Cap and ball vs six shooters, etc. Still had a bunch of scarry indians :o
I love it because it was all filmed in Utah (actually, a lot of old westerns were)...but it's my old stomping grounds. We used to ride horses up to the movie set, a lot of the props were still there. It was on Redford's property up by Sundance.....
I think I heard something about it being the first movie he produced, had issues with Holywood producers, decided to film it on his property to keep cost down. And you can still buy it today at Wal Mart for $7.50 :D

Some say he's up there....still.

When I was 17 my best friend worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken....I would go hang around and talk to her....we were in there one day, close to closing....and ROBERT REDFORD walked in to get a bucket of chicken...he was SMOKIN' HOT back then and we were almost speechless! Wish we would have had the notion to get him to sign a bucket or something.......we just did that teenage girl giggle thing....dorks.

When I was 15 and living outside of Heber I worked as a bagger at the grocery store, Robert Redford was a regular customer. No one ever made a big deal over him and I think that was what he liked about it. He could have gone into Provo but I think Heber was more kicked back about his status and thus he felt more at ease.

When I worked at the Salt Lake Airport (pre 9-11) he was a bit of a pain to deal with because he didn't want to have to go through the terminal building but wanted to be able to drive up to the jetway and board the aircraft from there. I understand that he didn't want to be bothered by fans however it certainly made things more difficult for everyone else. I don't know what he does now.

I've run into him a few times skiing at Park City over the years and actually rode up a chair lift with him once. It wasn't until after he got off the chair lift and took off his hood and goggles that I realized who it was. I would like to think that I would have treated him the same way I had I known but I'm not sure that actually would have been the case.

Anything by John Wayne and Clint Eastwood will be perfect but for a good laugh Rustler's Rhapsody with Tom Berenger is a Classic.

Anything with The Duke in it!

My daddy was a HUGE fan of John Wayne.....in fact for a very long time he had me convinced that John Wayne was my grandpa. I even went to school and told all my friends that he was.

Did someone mention Stagecoach?

Another one I forgot is Five Card Stud. (With Dean Martin, Robert Mitchum, Denver Pyle, Inger Stevens, & Roddy McDowell).
