Houston Chronicle Article

The Houston Chronicle has an article on the upcoming show: "Minute Maid is ready for Parrotheads"

Buffett will open his Bama Breeze '07 tour here Saturday night (April 21st). Minute Maid is the only baseball stadium on the itinerary.

The stage will be set in deep center field. Buffett will enter from the right field gate and walk along the warning track to the stage. Opening act Robert Earl Keen will play from 7:30 to 8 p.m. Buffett will begin singing around 8:30 p.m. and play for two hours and 15 minutes without his usual intermission.

Alcohol, especially frozen margaritas and Buffett's own beer label, Landshark Lager, will be sold.

Buffett, who has been rehearsing in Austin the past few weeks, is expected to arrive in Houston for sound check Friday. He and his band will use all the dressing rooms in Minute Maid except the Astros clubhouse.

Stagehands and crew began erecting the stage the minute the Astros finished sweeping the Marlins Tuesday night. The stage is so large that the speaker towers are being built outside the ballpark on Commerce.

I will sleep better tonight now that I know from which side Jimmy is going to enter the stage.

Do they know yet what he will be wearing?

The setlist is rumored to include such hits as Margaritaville, Fins and Cheeseburger in Paradise.

Maybe he has to be done by 11:00? An 8:30 start would be cutting it close.

And the rumour flying around by me is that he'll play Bama Breeze since it's the Bama Breeze Tour, following in the tradition of other Title Song Tours:
2002: Far Side of the World
2003: Tiki Bar is Open/Natives Are Restless
2004: License to Chill
2005: A Salty Piece of Land...

oh

right

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

Change that to yellow shorts and sort of a sky blue/aqua T shirt...

Sorry...

I was misinformed...

AstroWorld closing brings back memories

By KEN HOFFMAN
Copyright 2005 Houston Chronicle

BEFORE there was a Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, the outdoor concert venue was Southern Star Amphitheatre at AstroWorld.

In fact, my best/worst memory of AstroWorld was being asked to introduce Jimmy Buffett onstage at Southern Star Amphitheatre in 1988. I got yelled at for ad-libbing.

I guess that is proof that Jimmy did that show I was supposed to go to and I thought it was cancelled for some reason.

Thanks, springparrot, for the info.

Nevermind...After I read that again, I saw that was 1988. I was thinking of the 1986 Floridays show.
