If not being able to wear flip flops to school is a tragedy for these people, I fear for when real life hits them. Give me a freaking break.

You're supposed to go to school to learn and once you reach middle school age one of the things you should be learning is how to be an adult. Which means you can't always get what you want. Flip-flops don't belong in the workplace either.

We use Mick Jaggar as a parenting tool. We taught both kids early on when they keep asking for stuff...

We say, "What does Mick Jaggar say?"

They say (sing), "You can't always get what you want."

I think the biggest problem is there are too many parents who are afraid to say no to their kids. The sooner they learn they can't have everything they want, the better off they'll be. Disappointment is a great character builder.

Until they learn more Rolling Stones songs and sing, "Hey, you, get off of my cloud." Instead.

Having had to deal extensively with Risk Management after I fell at school (and I wasn't wearing flipflops) I understand why they dont' want them being worn there. Schools are in horrible shape and trip and falls are common due to the condition of the pavement...flip flops only exacerbate the chance of that happening.

This is outrageous!!!! They are trampling on these poor students fundamental rights!!! The U.S. Constitution clearly states that they have the right to bare toes, or limbs or arms or something of that nature.

Wait a minute, I think I'm getting my Rush Limbaugh rants wrong. Let me check my handbook.
