Of course, we haven't told our husbands that we're headed out of town to see Jimmy.

I saw Jack Johnson at the Greek a few years ago which was a fun show great atmosphere and would be a better place for pre-parties compared to the Bowl. I saw James Taylor a couple years back at the Bowl who put on a great show. I couldn't believe that you could bring your own beverages in the concert but I'm sure that would be changed if Jimmy plays. About Stevie, I saw her with Fleetwood and she sounded great with them.

Me and the she-crab have seen Jimmy at all 3 of the afforementioned venues (the Bowl in '89 and '90, The Greek in '92, Gibson/UA for the Millenium show).
If it's The Bowl, their parking plan negates any logical form of tailgate (as does the Gibson/UA). The Greek is not much better but does have a bit better layout if it is planned out well.
Our line of thinking is to get a LARGE soft side cooler and pack it as a picnic (plastic bottles, paper plates and a can of Sterno!).
With an October date, I could even wear the white sportcoat to go with the pink crustacean!

Removing any doubt, Stevie was on last night. Her vocals, her band, the set list.......incredible show!!!!!!!Lightning Bolt wrote:The Forum was once a GREAT venue in a GREAT neighborhoodBrown Eyed Girl wrote:I honestly hope that she puts on a great show...but I'm just telling you what I know of her singing. Jimmy in LA?!
I'm so excited about a Hollywood date. I just moved to LA from South Carolina and while so far I love it, it would do me wonders to hear Jimmy live out here. I was thinking The Hollywood Bowl for the show too. That would be a great venue.
I've read dozens of books about heros and crooks and have learned much from both of their styles.

The Bowl was a great place to catch Jimmy. I don't remember much from the show I saw back in '95 except that Jimmy played Uncle John's band and deadicated the song to Jerry Garcia who had just passed away.
Tailgating was wherever you could pull up a slab of concrete and pop the trunk with some lounge chairs. We stayed at a large hotel about a half mile from the bowl and walked the tailgaters all afternoon and had a great time.

Alright, we got the vegas dates, and we all bought our tickets today. Now that all us left coasters dropped down the cash for tickets, the So Cal dates can't be too far away from being confirmed...right? Most likely between the Vegas shows.
I'm hoping for Irvine rather than Hollywood, but we'll see. Ideally, I'd like a show in So Cal on Thursday, Oct 25 - that way we go to Irvine Thursday, wake up Friday and drive up to Vegas. Who's with me?

There will be a show, if not shows, it is just a matter of where. My guess is there will only be one, but others are hoping for both LA/OC and San Diego.bumper wrote:I got used to the idea of no California shows this year, doubtful any dates will be announced.
He'll be here, we just don't know the details....this is killing me.
