For those of you in the So Cal area for a long time (we have only been out here for about 9 years) - Has Jimmy ever played in Hollywood? Do you think the Hollywood Bowl will be this years only So Cal concert? I am still hoping for Irvine and Chula Vista and Santa Barbara.
In any event, we are seeing him this weekend in Frisco, TX as we cannot wait for the "end of the tour" dates. Yes, we are impatient

Where else would they have a concert of this size in Hollywood? The Greek?

The Bowl is pretty well booked from now until December. The Greek (which isn't Hollywood...but maybe close enough for Jimmy's geography) is wide open in September and October.

If this show happens on a weekend I would seriously consider coming out to So Cal.

Likely, the Hollywood show would be between the Vegas weekends, which will likely be Oct 20 and 27. The Bowl is open that entire week.
The Bowl allows you to BYOB, but I think they'd have to change that rule for Buffett. Sure we usually sneak our own booze in, but could you imagine the mess if you could freely bring in your own?
Here's to the SoCal show, wherever it may be. I'd prefere Irvine, but as long as Bubba and crew show up, I'll be happy.

How many people does the bowl seat for a concert? What about Irvine?

The bowl is around 18,000. Irvine is just over 19,000. According to online sources.

I saw Jimmy at the Bowl about 10 years ago...it was a great experience......
I think the Greek would actually be a better venue-its nestled in the hills north of Los Feliz and one of the nicest venues LA has to offer IMO...

My experience at the Bowl was pleasant (the huge grand re-opening in 2004 after the renovation) but that was a sit-down evening for the most part. A Buffett concert is definitely not a sit-down event, so I'm not sure how well that'd work.

What is isn't is Irvine or The Pond.
First guess would be the Bowl, second would be the Greek neither of those oferring the best of tailgate situations but we will adjust. Gonna see Stevie Nicks at the Greek next month!!!!cannot think of a better venue to see her

A few years ago when I saw him in Chula Vista the show was announced much later that the rest of the tour. Actually I found out about the ATL show this year the week before tix went on sale and it was a month later. Irvine and CV are nice venues, CV has the huge dirt parking lot and in the past it had been free. I have never been a fan of going into the "city" so I do not know those venues. the bowl would be nice though.

Man I hope she's worth the price of the ticket, she has sounded AWFUL the last few times I've heard her on TV.

Sad, cuz she's one of my faves...but she needs to hang it up if that is as good as it gets.

Heard similiar things about Bob Seger coming back on tour, he put on an awesome show at one of the worst places for a concert, the Fabulous Forum

You will have such a great time! I truly believe you get what you want out of something. Some people expect the worse and that's what they get, ya know the kind that always have something negative to say. I have seen Stevie almost every time she's toured and have never been disappointed.
She is such an old soul

I know so little of music that I would have to look up the word Octave in order to articulate its meaning. She is an undisputed legend of rock N roll, she sings off key chances are purdy good I wouldn't notice. Just to be sure we get our fill, Lindsey Buckingham the following month at the House of Blues, who knows maybe Stevie shows up

The Forum was once a GREAT venue in a GREAT neighborhood
Stones, Yes, Bowie put on some great shows there
Then came the '80's and both have dropped off considerably
..and Stevie Nicks must be running out of rent money for her Laurel Canyon digs,
cuz last time I heard her at CV with Tom Petty, she sounded like an ashtray would if it could croak

Careful Brad...someone may call ya negative for making an educated observation.
