Atlanta Show was Fabulous!

Post by LivingOutMy2ndChance »

I remember last year someone (a one-time poster I think) complained about the Atlanta show immediately afterwards ... something like it should have been rescheduled because of the rain. Anyway, I dare anyone to complain this year!!

We're just home from the show and it was GREAT ... even indoors!

I'm exhausted, so no long re-hashing ... I'm sure many others will have / have had lots to say, but the energy from Jimmy and the entire band was incredible. I think it's the best show of the '00s !!

I loved that the set list included Presents to Send You, Hula Girl @ Heart, TTWWY, & the "Redemption Song version" of APL@40. Banana Republics was incredible. I got goosebumps! And the In My Room / TIJNMG encore was pure heaven.

Those of you holding on to tickets ... I'm jealous! I know it'll only get better as the tour progresses.

p.s. And the video footage from Anguilla was great, plus we got to see him sailing the GROOVY around St. Barth's.

Night all, from a happy little Parrothead [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

I agree. Only my second time being at a ive show, but I have heard many of them via RM. I was worried when the sound was so off during On The Road Again (and was really surprised to hear what sounded like some people booing after the song was over) but that has to have been one of the best shows I have ever been to in my life, hands down.

To have a song and a half of just Jimmy and his guitar, that really was nice. Add to that the old footage of south Alabama before Gulf Shores became the new place to be on the northern gulf coast, that just put a real capper on it.

A quick shout out to the two members of the Auburn University Marching Band with the "War Damn Jimmy" shirts on. If there is any way for non band members to get one of those let me know.

It sure did. To me it was one of the best quality (sound and performance) shows I've heard on RM.

It was an awesome show. The tailgating was not as good (everyone was seperated compared to Lakewood) but the show was awesome. The crowd behind the stage was great. Everytime he looked back there you guys erupted!. That was cool when he played EIOTP and all the people holding their lighted cell phones up. Obviously I had a "bird's eye" view.

WOW, what a show, it was a great one for sure.

Tailgate was fun, it was great to see everyone again. Had a blast with MGG and Stu, glad we had awesome seats (6th row!!!) The fellowship, the show it was all fantastic.

Hope MGG and Stu had a safe night. Claudia and I headed straight home afterwards, we both had to work today. UGH!!! Dawgfan passed us on the way out.

Oh yea, we saw ZUKE behind the stage with his jersey. Pretty awesome. (wish we had snuck cameras in...)

I am now hoping for a NC or SC show, JB was awesome!!!

One of the times Jimmy was talking about loving Atlanta and the memories, I thought I heard him say we may have to do this twice next time. It would be great to have him do 2 Atlanta shows again, in the same weekend. Jimmy seemed to be really having a good time and my brother who didn't get to a concert last year made the comment that his voice was as strong as he had heard in awhile. I liked the show and had a great time. I was amused after the show when I heard someone say as they were leaving, "I liked that Jamaica Mistake song, I haven't heard that before, is it on his new album?" :o
Once on a close up on the big screen Jimmy seemed to be touched by the crowd. he beat his fist a couple of times over his heart and pointed out to the crowd. (Although I think he was pointing at me when he saw I was there).
FINS UP!

I think any "boos" people may have heard after On the Road Again were definitely about the sound. It was AWFUL. We weren't on the floor, but had $138 seats and, honestly, if I hadn't read the TX setlist, I wouldn't have known what he was playing. And the guys working those big electronic sound thingys were definitely scrambling to fix it.

I was really impressed by the crowd's welcome. This is my 17th year of JB concert-going. Granted, I've only seen him in the SE, and I've never seen him get such a great welcome ... even at Auburn University. Maybe he'll make good on his word and we'll get 2 shows next year ... or back to 2 summer shows and a winter show ... the way it should be.

I'm still hoping against hope a Charlotte date will be added!!!

Anybody with cowboy hat pics, please post ... those were priceless, both Jimmy and Mac.

OK, who stole one of the Landshark Lager banners? They were hung around the arena and were disapearing all through the show!

Yes, I have that album, I bought it the week it was released. I just thought it was funny when I heard the other person say that. I liked his choices he played from the new album last night. I would have liked to hear BIBOMO.

Funny you should say that...I tried, but keys only bend when you try to break through heavy cable ties! *note to self, bring a sharp cutting object next time*. A guy came by, whipped out his pocket knife, cut all 3 down in our section and was gone in 45 seconds.

I thought they did sounds check before hand. Someone must have knocked something as it was really out of whack. We didn't have a clue what the sound was when he first came out. Thank goodness it was fixed.
