Camping at Riverbend

Post by coachk34 »

I am trying to find out if I can camp with my travel trailer at Riverbend? I know last year I saw several RV's at the end of the Riverdowns parking lot. How did they get to park there? Is there a fee? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

If I remember correctly you should get there early (or maybe even the afternoon before the concert) and have some cash on hand. You should be able to work something out as long as you don't wait until lunchtime the day of the concert and hope to find a spot close to the venue; by then usually all the good spots have already been claimed.

See you in Cincy!

You were so quick that it doesn't even say "edited by"!!

But back on topic, I dont think those additional lots are actually for camping are they? Do they let them stay after the show is over?

Not the ones owned by the venue that are policed by security, but I think I remember the independent lots and grassy areas on the other side of the street from the venue might be. But that's just me remembering. I could definitely be wrong.

I know which lots your talking about, and back in the day when riverbend was being real strict with alcohol in the parking lot, those private lots were a great alternative. But I just wasn't sure if they kicked you out, or let you stay there all night. But yeah, do have some cash, they charge.

I've been the last two years and it's been pretty loose in the areas I was talking about (since they don't let anyone stay in the parking lot period; as soon as you park you have literally about 2 minutes to head toward to the venue before security walks up and tells you to do so, not to mention they haven't even opened the Riverbend parking lots at Coney until at least 5:30 the last few years in an effort to keep drinking off their property and liabilities).

And with the cash, cars aren't too bad to park in those alternative lots (usually $15-$20) but a camper would almost surely cost a great deal more. However, I know last year the lot I parked in had roughly 10 RVs parked in it, so it can't be TOO expensive.

Well hopefully someone will be able to answer the author's question. I think by "camping", it meant being able to stay the night in those privately owned lots overnight.

If we get an answer, I might do that this year.  If not, we're just gonna do the usual and get a limo from the beechmont ave hotel.

Thanks a lot for the info. I did see some of those lots last year across the street, I had forgot about those. The earliest I could get there would be Wednesday afternoon, think that would be early enough? I cant afford to pull the trailer 3 hours and be shut out. Would really like to know how much too. We would want to stay wed. and thru. nights.

Last year we had no troulbe at all tailgating in the riverdowns parking lot for free and never saw any security. Probably got in there about 3:00 the afternoon of the concert. Ive got some emails into riverdowns and coney island, hopefully ill get some info back from them.

the only lot that will allow you to actually spend the night is the one on Sutton . I think someone said he is 100 per night and you have to make reservations in advance.
The Coney and River Downs lots were pretty liberal. But you Could not camp all night there are a lot of campers there. but they will not allow overnite-

I know from experience that you can leave a vehicle all night, which was great when we went looking for it the next day.

I am sure you can leave an empty car overnight. but I am the one in the Cinci Club, who has negotiated each year ( for the past 5 years) with coney for us to be able to use the lots on the corner of Sutton and Kellogg. they have told me that the lots will not open till thurs. am, and they will not let us CAMP overnite.
I just do not want anyone on here, to show up on Wed. thinking they can pull in and camp and then have a problem. or to plan to stay on thursday nt. and continue the party

There's a guy on Sutton just on the other side of the overpass where the Bluegrass PH club sets up where you can camp- rvs or tents. Kevin and Brandon would know, but they're in Dallas right now.

I have emailed the officers in the BG Parrot Head Club and have not got a response yet. Hopefully something will work out.
