I watched "Barton Fink" (I love the Coen brothers) and Magnolia this weekend. Both are twisted, and I loved both immensely. Anyone else here seen these films? If not I recommend them both highly.

I'm going to watched "Eraserhead" tomorrow night and hope Cronenberg doesn't give me nightmares. Then I'm REALLY gonna push my luck and watch "Pink Flamingoes". Wish me luck, all. ;)

I remember seeing Magnolia and thinking there were some terrific performances by some very gifted actors in a very weird movie.

I loved it. Couldn't believe I hadn't seen it until tonight. It's one I can watch a dozen times and get something new out of it every time. Same as with "The Big Lebowski".

big fan of Magnolia here 8)
and ALL independent film, for that matter

Tom Cruise got an Oscar nom for his T. Frank Mackey.
If you throw out all his popcorn movie cr*p he makes for his mega-dollars,
that may have been his best screen performance IMO

Pink Flamingoes-- Thats one strange movie. First time I saw it-- It probably took me at least 6 hours to watch it. I had to stop it every so often cause its very disturbing at times. John Waters has one sick mind.

In general I think Tom Cruise is a grade-A douche, but I have to admit he nailed the part in "Magnolia".
