Exactly!! As NYC Sharkling says, Stouts is almost literally across the street....while Moe's is a tough trip down to MSG during rush hour...IrishPirate wrote:Pleasin & Teasin wrote:some friends and I will be at the 9/18 MSG show.....gonna find out about Stout for pre and post-show festivities...anyone wanna join us??

As you know, I am both an ole lady and a New Yorker....no rush hour trip for me when i can party across the street from the concert...
Look forward to seeing you both....which nite? Thursday? I'm doing both, of course....

A New Yorker and you've never heard of the subway? And 7pm is rush hour???
Stout is huge, has no tropical theme, and you will be a group sitting in a dark, dank corner until it's time for the show.
Mo's will have drink specials, we will have the place to ourselves and they will play all the buffett you want them to all day long. Oh yeah, then we will have to take 20-30 minute subway ride and walk that same block as you would from Stout. Your choice, but Stout isn't where my crew will be. We're going back to Mo's where it all started!

Yes, 7pm is still rush hour, particularly if you're looking for cabs...and, tho i've spent many years on the subways, as i say, I'm an ole lady and cant take the stairs these days.....NYCPORT wrote:Can't be much of a New Yorker if you've never heard of the subway? And 7pm is rush hour???
...not to mention that subway travel is not very convenient from Mo's on the upper east side to MSG on the west side....its not that 'you cant get there from here', so to speak, but you either walk and take 3 trains, or walk, take one train, then walk alot or take a bus....
....altho, feeling no pain, maybe its not so bad......

I didnt go to either place last year, but heard that Mo's was so crowded that some BNers couldnt get in to see each other....NYCPORT wrote:A New Yorker and you've never heard of the subway? And 7pm is rush hour???

Also heard that Stouts had buffett music and videos and tropical drinks....
But as Moe's is apparently not big enough to hold us all, by all means enjoy it, while the rest of us have fun at Stouts. From what you say, we shouldnt have any trouble getting in......
