Ms. Nadirah Shakoor has used her voice to entertain and inspire music fans for her entire life. From being in the group Arrested Development, to writing and recording her own songs and albums, to being a vocalist in Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band for 12 years now, whatever project she sings on or whomever she performs with—her voice stands out and is unforgettable. In her life she has recorded with a diverse list of the greats—from Ralph MacDonald, Quincy Jones, Al Jarreau, Jimmy Buffett and many others.

On this episode of Time After Island Time we continue our exploration into the music of Nadirah Shakoor. We gain more insight into her personal philosophies. She discusses how her songwriting has changed over the years and how she has changed as an artist.

Nadirah said Jimmy approached her about doing an album of Jimmy's songs! And of course, Nadirah said yes and said Mac and Mike Utley will collaborate. Great for her!

Can you imagine Nadirah singing "Blue Heaven Rendezvous" or "Pre-You"?

It would be incredible, and I hope those songs are on the album they do. This really is exciting news! Maybe they'll reunite with the long-lost horn section for this one!

Hey Larry,
No she didn't say when it was going to be coming out. She mentioned Ms. Savannah Jane Buffett was going to be helping to suggest some of the songs.

We are planning on doing a Nadirah Shakoor: Revisited type program in which she sings with accompanying musicians performing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I think she will do it.

She is a very cool person, and after doing this show I come to appreciate and respect her even more. She adds a lot to the music. I was also very impressed by her original music. She is writing some wonderful things. Big messages.

As they say, "More to Come."
