Biloxi over Vegas? Not sure I understand that one. One hand I give Jimmy props due to what that region has gone through but its a very risky business move all things considered. You never know what can happen weatherwise down there.

I think you'll find a pretty good size group that would rather go to Biloxi than Vegas. I tolerate Vegas, because I HAVE to go there for business. The airport sucks, the transportation sucks, there's WAY too many people... but that's just my opinion

Surfacing for a post...
I think that this might be like Cheese Burgers, Buffett smart to put his name on it and collect some dough while looking like the good guy for helping the home town. But like the Cheese Burger franchise it looses money each year, which means buffett still gets his royalities but Outback is loosing their shirt.

Hey Cougs, when you come down for the Pittsburgh concert, bring me some wine and I'll hook you up with a Primanti's sammich and an Iron City beer.....Couganata wrote:Surfacing for a post...

Actually, we belong to a couple of wineries in NOL. Some really good wine up there.

Sounds fine by me... I will help you celebrate!!
I am so excited about Jimmy teaming up with Harrah's.. I knew gambling there for years would pay off!! Maybe comp tickets or at the very least rooms???? I wondered what was coming when they opened a Margaritaville at the Flamingo (owned my Harrah"s) and then Harrah's entertainment booked him into Atlantic City.
See ya at the grand opening

No one complained at all about a Margaritaville being in Biloxi pre-Katrina. I don't recall exactly but I think it was going to be more of an ampi-theatre situation and hotel. Then something happened and they got over it.
Now it's going to be a casino. Whatever. The second ever Marg on the Gulf Coast. Jimmy doesn't need the money but who cares?
In the long it'll just be another casino that gets destroyed by the first hurricane of the 2010 season or after that.
Just like Hard Rock got nailed the day they were supposed to open.

I just can't get worked up over this JB-is-building-a-casino thing. So what? There are bigger things to get worked up about.... JB is a businessman. If people don't like that, frankly, too bad.
I might well even go there someday, although my gambling is limited to a few plays on the slots. It'd be great to sit on the beach, sit at the pool, and have a few "chill" days.
I'm glad to see it, for the Biloxi economy.
