You know .... few people know that the original album artwork, name and overall concept was much different that what eventually was released. The original album cover contained such unusual images, designs (some called them 'avatars'), many downright futuristic in nature, that the Beatles dropped it in favor of the Sgt. Pepper theme instead.
Me? I always prefered the never (until now) unreleased original 'SURFERS' album.

Yup. He was also one of the two California surfers Bruce Brown cast in the film Endless Summer (Mike Hynson was the other).

You need more bikinis and boobies to make this surf album a number 1 hit

When CD's first came out it was the first one I bought. It was amazing how clear cymbals and bell could sound on CD's.

Although i give Slater props for pulling Pam, I think the fact that he won 8 world championships(and comes from Florida) is a little more impressive.

I was 15 years, 5 months, and 8 days old. One of my favorites too-and yes, I still have my original vinyl RECORD of that.
Maybe it's time to dust it off and give it a spin tonight.
God Bless you, Billy Shears.

No one will ever get close to what the Beatles did.

I was the "record girl" the entire summer of '67! I got to choose what was
played on the big floor-model stereo, so folks heard a lot of Whiter Shade
of Pale.
