2 nights at Flamingo for 460 dollars

Total 940 dollars (ouch)
This doesn't count spending money.... I still think I want to go though. I've never seen Buffett in Vegas and would be interested in knowing if it will be worth it...
Refer back in this post.....call tropo mike ....he has cheaper rooms at Hooters....

I've got beads from a Mardi Gras I went to like 6 years ago I can wear...or buy them for a dime a dozen.

Here is a link to where you can get you self a coconut bra and they are on sale for $4.95

http://www.coconutbeach.com/concertwear.html

Got my better half one from there.
Who bets Seanr is wearing that bra before the night is over?

General question - do people usually get "dressed up" in their Buffett gear first thing in the morning and wear it all day around Vegas - or do they just put it on right before the show?

I would think all day since it is Vegas and it takes a lot more then just a grass skirt to stand out - but I was just wondering. My cheeseburger hat sure is going to get a workout.[/quote]

Silly Newbie!!!! If the party starts at 0800 you need to come to the party properly attired!!! Oh and the party starts the night before.......

Hee Hee..... You will look SO out of place!!!!!

NOT! If you don't at least have a grass skirt, coconut bra, throw beads and leis....you'll feel naked!!!!

The bras are not too bad if you get some different strings to tie them with and then line the shells with something soft (especially if you are bare underneath....)

Get lots of beads if you can get them cheap!! They are great giveaways and you will be instant friends with everyone you cross paths with!!!!
But once I got drunk and careless, I'd be afraid something might "shift" in my dishevled clothing and, you know, show. Beads, on the other hand, I can do. I'm driving so maybe I'll just fill my trunk with beads :)

This is Pure, in case anyone was interested. It's in Ceaser's Palace. I don't think they'll let me in with what I'm wearing!

Pure is exclusive but the best place in vegas to party.

We can't make bottle reservations until a month before... so we are gonna have to wait until september.

I wish I could wear a coconut bra but they don't make them big enough to fit me!

I am trying to look for two options of outfits... a dress that would look cute for a jean jacket if it is cold.

A bathing suit with a shortened hula skirt if its warm. I don't think I will wear a lei. but some flowers in my hair instead.

Its close to Halloween soo you might be surprised what you can get away with =).. Pure is pretty awesome though, except for the crazy door charge and drink prices. I prefer Casino Royale with their $1 michalob bottles, $1 margaritas, and low minium tables! Captain Morgan, myself and a few others are going to zip in friday and leave sunday to keywest, should be a blast!

If you can find a bathing suit like that, let me know because it sounds cute! I wont bring anything other than beads, but I wouldn't mind getting leied. (haha - that's so stupid!)

Leis, flowers for my hair, cool tiki style mugs. etc etc...

We are thinking about decorating our balcony! :)

I'd like to do that with my patio. They sell a lot of that kind of stuff out here. Arizona has so many tiki bars...but I never get sick of it! :)

You can get better rates than that. http://www.fatwallet.com/t/63/704925/
has rates. Not all the fall promotions are out yet though.

You could also do better at the MGM itself. (the monorail is connected to the mgm through airconditioned walkway, and there is a drop off at the flamingo!)

Hooters is an option. But for a little cheaper, look further back into the pages of this thread, I gave some links for vrbo.com properties at the mgm signature which are supposed to be nicer than flamingo "go" rooms. A little cheaper than that because they vrbo knocks off 30 percent. most of the time... since the rates are about 460 also for the sig, you can take an automatic 30% off... for a nicer larger suite. I know 30% ain't much but hell that about covers the price of your ticket!

Just a heads up (fins up?) to anyone planning to stay in Vegas for a few days after the Oct. 27 show. The hotel rates are rising rapidly, and room availability is dropping - just about every room in town will be booked come September. That's because of the SEMA/AAPEX show being in town from Oct. 30 - Nov. 2. It's the biggest convention that Vegas hosts (bigger than the COMDEX show) and draws attendees from all over the world. We have attended the SEMA show for several years, (plus I visit Vegas a few times a year for fun too!) and I'd strongly suggest you book your rooms now. Grab the lowest rate you can currently find, and keep your eyes open for any better deals later. You can always book another room if you find one at a better rate, and then just cancel your original one. Most hotels in Vegas will give you a full refund of your deposit up to 48 hrs before the start of your reservation.
We'll be arriving in Vegas on the Friday night, and are looking forward to meeting some of you before, during & after the show!

I was thinking maybe we should just all meet-up Friday night at Margaritaville and just go from there? That's assuming everyone gets into Vegas on Friday. That way if people want to go to Pure, TV, etc later that night or Sat. they can and whoever wants to stick around MGM/Margaritaville can and we'll at least all end up meeting at some point.

Just an idea! :)
