Last few times I have been there the Flamingo pool has NOT been open to the public... they check your room key before they let you into the pool area. You can walk outside to see the birds, but not to get abck by the pool.

Now, it is just a person checking keys not turnstiles, so when they walk away you could sneak in - but at least when I was there it was not 100% open

Dean should probably answer here but here goes anyway....

most all of the pools have some sort of "Gaurdian' at the gate....attendants, gates , room keys etc... Last time we were at Hooters there was no "Guardian".... However, if you want into a pool all you need to do is find someone who is staying there and have them get extra keys...they can then get you into the pool....besides most folks are going to want to change into their speedos before going to the pool so that they don't chaffe while walking down the strip and otherwise causing car accidents....

As we have a plethora of parrotheads going....I'm sure you can find someone to let you in!

I am doing this in stages so I can amass the list and the get togethers in a reasonable way. Also late joiners will be able to have a reasonable expectation of who is staying where.

I saw the list for chicago and was amazed. They were really organized. I am not pushing anyone... Just putting this out there... so that they will start trickleing in over the next few weeks.

Close to the show I will get together phone numbers. I will never post the phone numbers to the forum unless you say its ok. But they will be on a PM to everyone so people communicate. If you are uncomfortable, giving you number out in october that is fine.

I am also thinking of maybe doing a phone tree so that friday we can do a little reminder about the meet-ups.

Again, earlier in the thread I said I would not post it.

But if someone is hosting a meetup and feels comfortable doing so on the "list" than they can let me know.

I would like to be that organized! That is why I am accumulating the information in steps. So its not like last minute and everyone knows whats going on.

Shirts may require too much skin to be covered and we don't want that. Maybe hats would be better so they don't interfere with the bikini's and coconut bras. We are still trying to decide what to wear Saturday.

I have to agree with that - it'd be nice to wear as little as possible!

I am trying to finalize my three options my warm weather/my cool weather/ my cold weather.

The temps can be anywhere from 80-50 degrees.

But the t-shirts would be more for the meet up, not for saturday. But we dont have to do them.... I was just doing my job by mentioning them!

I was thinking the same, for a Friday night meet-up it would be cool and then to have as a reminder of the weekend. It maybe the only thing we all remember.

I think it would be funny to get shirts w/ numbers and our screen names across the back. Maybe a big BN on the front.

shirts could work, or something unique to show that a bunch of us are together. it's just so hard to stand out at a Buffett concert, esepcially in Vegas for Halloween.

T-shirts are a great idea. We could also do fin hats, or parrot hats as well. I have seen some on ebay that don't look too expensive.
