Anyway I was planning on going to Nadirah's show on Friday night at Margaritaville but as it doesn't start until 10:30, that leaves plenty of time for dinner/show, meeting.... Does anyone have any plans set for that night? (I could use some suggestions, hookups, etc.)
Nadirah's MySpace says 8p, so there's some confusion as to when the start time is.
I'd check in with Margaritaville when you get to Vegas, certainly they'll have it figured out by then.
Some people never find it, some only pretend
But me, I just want to live happily ever after every now and then.

I just called Las Vegas Margaritaville (uh, on my cell phone, boss, of course!) and they say that they're sticking to their story. (Jimmy'd be proud)

I think I still like Dezdamona's suggestion best, though. I'll check when we get in. (Thanx Dez!) :D

I hate to throw in the towel on Larry anytime up until 10 minutes before the show starts, but he sounds serious (not Sirius) this time...

I started at pg 39 in an attempt to catch up... We get in sometime Thursday. Between 9:40 and midnight, depending on what flights we catch and how early I get out of work. Probably out for a bit, regardless. Leave Monday night (so we can watch NFL). Staying at Hooters.

We're fairly easily identifiable as one of us usually wearing Gators something-or-other (finally found a florida bathing suit I love after years of looking!) and singing random Barefoot Man lyrics, from the real nippers

So, if you see us, say HI!

We have no plan other than:
Friday: Will probably start at Hooters pool and pub crawl up the strip through some of the casino bars on Friday afternoon, getting appetizers and munchies as needed before the show at M'ville.

Saturday: 12:30 Florida-Georgia at any sportsbook we can find that has free drinks (I heard the venetian stopped doing this?), then pre-partying.

Watching NFL all day Sunday at aforementioned as-of-yet-known Sportsbook.

Oh! And we need to stage a fake wedding photo in front of one of the chapels as a little prank for loved ones and a certain obnoxious bridezilla friend ;).

Good - that's much better than last year's 11:30am start to the Friday night party!

Thank Goodness!

Now that I have come and gone through sin city I feel it only fair to share with you what I have learned and left behind . . . .

GO TO THE FLAMINGO AND GET YOUR LIMITED EDITION MARGARITAVILLE CASINO CHIPS. THEY COME IN $5 and $25 Denom. I'm not sure what is left there. The cashier looked at us as if she were afraid she was nearly out of them. I'll keep hope for you all!

Vic and Anthonys Steakhouse at the Golden Nuggett has amazing food but so-so service. We spent alot and tipped well but were treated throughout dinner that we were younger and not going to conduct ourselves

I felt my time on Fremont St. could have been better spent elsewhere. I just wasn't impressed.

Avoid The Duece bus. Its crap even at $2. You can walk up and down the strip most anywhere faster. Use the Monorail if its an option. If you are south Monorail to the Sahara and catch a cab downtown. The Deuce was a nightmare.

The Red Bull Margaritas are fantastic!

Enjoy yourselves and if you are near the main floor and the arena staff appear "elderly" help yourself to the main floor to dance.

When the show is over help yourself to the banners/advertising hanging around the place. No one had a single problem with Parrotheads taking the stuff. Even going the high road and asking to have it I was permitted. Most just tore stuff down. I have a Tequila Banner and Tequila flags.

Hooters service in their restaurants at the hotel was awful. 1hr wait for wings!? c'mon. Marino's was OK but my ribs were luke warm/cold.

If this is what your into - The services offered on "the cards" are negotiable. I did not partake but called as a dare and was able to talk down 3 "agencies".

Most of all have a great f'n time. This past Saturday night was cold in Vegas and made the Post partying tough.
The Parrot Dice Lounge kinda like a mirage. Here today and gone tomorrow. You should stop by and say hello when visiting Chicago on tour.

Also, have a big table reserved at Trader Vics the night of the show, should be a blast. Any word on the Hooters or MGM pool parties? 3 days, can't wait. Fins up!!!!

10-Day forecast has a high of 78 on Saturday with a low of 57. I still haven't heard anything on the pool party at the MGM. Has anyone checked the thread for the 10-20 show to see if it was worth while last weekend?

A cold front blew thru out here during Jimmy's show. The wind picked up and it was awful during the post party at Hooters like Mat said. Sunday was cold but it warmed up today. Still very cool at night and in the shade. The hotels still have on the air conditioning so if anyone is cold natured bring jackets or sweatshirts. The weather is showing to be warming up but you know that could change in an instant. I'm glad I brought my jeans, sweatshirt and a windbreaker!!! I will keep trying to warm up!!
