The Burgh' show...

Post by Banana Wind 08 »

Was great! :D

The lots opened up at noon and we got there alittle after 1 with no problems at all getting in.......the weather was perfect and everyone was having a blast in the lots...it was great to meet some of you, and like always the time in the lots goes sooooo fast.....I saw Miles walking along with his girlfriend/wife? and said hi..and then soon enough it was time to head into the concert...

The show was great and Jimmy was really happy to be back at star lake...I dont know about anyone else but I thought that the first set FLEW BY but in the second set he played its my job with mac, which was great aong with BOAT DRINKS!!! and frank and lola :D

I was bouncing around and singing like a wild man and yeah, I did get alot of looks, especially when I snunk down after 5 o'clock somewhere to the pit :o
After Jimmy played 5 o'clock I noticed from my seats wayy in the back of section 4 that people down below were starting to clear out...so I just walked right down into section 2, and snuck right past a security guard in the pit and watched Jimmy play margaritaville, southern cross, oph, and in my room/tonight i just need my guitar 3 rows back it was absolutly amazing and I took some great pictures that I will post later this week after I get them developed...Jimmy did throw me a pick, but it didnt make it to me and got lost in the little area where all the beach balls fall...

but that wasnt the highlight of the evening..the highlight was hearing Jimmy thank Pittsburgh for all the years, and most of all he said...
"We'll see ya next year Pittsburgh" :D

Great concert at Star Lake. THE perfect weather day, friendly folks, lots of Coronas, cheeseburgers, and tequila shooters, better than usual seats, Jimmy playing my second favorite song, "It's My Job," ("Stars Fell on Alabama" #1, Desperation Samba #3!), good friends and family, a safe trip home--perfection!! Thanks Jimmy, for a perfect day and evening. Hope to see you in the Burgh next year, and maybe Hawaii in October!!!

:wench: Thanks Jimmy for another fantastic show. Great weather, good food and even better friendly folks! My cousin Rebecca was sitting in the front row and when Jimmy came out on the bike, he had a LandShark lager bottle and gave it to her. She was sooooooo excited and shaking! She asked the security guard if he was going to take the bottle from her (open container). Fortunately, he said no, its for you to keep!! What a bonus. At the end of the show, her husband got one of Jimmy's wrist bands. Those 2 are so lucky! Well, till the next show....Hope to see someone in Vegas in Oct. Love you Jimmy!!!!!!

Great setlist!!! Great show!!!! Seemed like Jimmy was having fun and glad to be there. Sorry I didn't have the opportunity to meet anyone - circumstances beyond our control kept us from getting to the lot until nearly 5 p.m., but the show was awsome and can't wait until next year 8) .

Fins up!!!!

Fan-freaking-tastic!

Weather was perfect, great setlist, and the band was in top form. We had a great spot front and center on the lawn, and not even 1 encounter with a drunken idiot. By far, the best show I've seen.

Now, off to the cess pool that is Camden...

Wish I could say the same!
Frank, are you too good to find us anymore? Haven't seen you since the year of the monkeys! :D
Great show though! And loved ending with Tonight I Just Need My Guitar.
Toronto is next for me and then the next day I will celebrate the last birthday I will ever have (30!)!

Star Lake has always been my favorite venue and it was great again this year. Wonderful weather, fun tailgate. Always great people there. The show was fantastic. The lawn is good there, too. Never too crowded and good sound.

inked-parrotthead-- That was Capt. Quint at the HI, not the Boat Drunks, but it was bad the way the head janitor or whoever that idiot was made them quit in the middle of a song. There was some kind of mix up there. The band thought they were supposed to play to 1 AM.
Love in the library, quiet and cool.
