I wonder why JB references in comic strips are so plentiful?
These moments we're left with, may we always remember, these moments are shared by few...

Buffett was mentioned in a "Lockhorns" comic a week or two ago. Never thought THAT comic strip would do that !

Not many things make me laugh more than people who describe themselves as long-time parrotheads who LOVE the music of Jimmy Buffet.

There's also that awesome song about Cheeseburgers!!!

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

Ugh! I hate it when people try to tell me that Jimmy Buffett (or Buffet, if you will) sang that song :x ... I also know a guy who swears up and down that Jimmy Buffett sings Marina del Rey

Actually, he did make the ultimate parrothead faux pas once, in this strip from way back in 1985:

http://arloandjanis.com/thirdweek3.htm

He does proffer a quite plausible excuse for his mistake however, and everyone is entitled to one youthful solecism  .

We were going through security in the Indy airport about a week and a half ago... my wife had on a Margaritaville t-shirt. The security guy says "Jimmy Buffett?" and breaks into singing "...if you like pina coladas..."

that is when you have to slip something metal into the waistband of the person ahead of you, so the distraction gives the TSA guy something to obsess about.
