Not sure if this just started today, but I was listening to RM on RM.com when the following message started repeating over and over.
"Well sorry for the interuption here. Today is a day of silence at radio margaritaville. The future of radio on the internet is in immediate danger. Royalty rates for webcasters have been drastically, and we mean drastically, increased by a recent ruling, and are due to go into effect July 15th. Not only that, but retroactive to January 1st, 2006.link on our webpage at radiomargaritaville.com, and hopefully you can follow it, and do your part. Thanks."

i was wondering the same thing about the concert tonight!!.

according the sirius website it will be on:

please note that the royalties must be paid from January 2006! that's a year and a half ago! some little stations (and RM was one once upon a time) will be unplugged for good.

The issue is internet radio... not satellite radio, so it seems Sirius will be fine.
