75/25 - Just because I don't know a lot of you. That'll change this week though. I'm headed to Nissan and Boardwalk Hall.

I voted 50/50.
More because I've heard the "Big 8" enough and I go hoping to hear something special. I loved hearing Treat Her Like a Lady last night.
If I knew I was going to hear 20 songs that are rarely played, I'd be happy to skip the tailgate completely.

I've only been to 8 shows, but I have tix for two more, so I'm voting.
50/50
I love live music so watching any of my favourite performers is a thrill, whether I agree with the playlist or not. I think I will always walk away from a show thinking "I wish they had played _________"
Meeting old friends and new ones before the show is always a great time. And I love the tailgate tradition that parrotheads have got going. The circus in the parking lots is worth the price of admission every time. I will never be late for a tailgate again.

50/50, Would I go to a JB show if there was no pre-party? Yes. Would I go to a party with the people I've met if there was no concert? Yes.

well after the first 4 I think 50-50
the next 3 were
in search of the
crew to hang with
and after that? mostly for the pre show fun
and the friendship I have come to associate
with a Jimmy and Coral Reefer show..
I also wait for the gems to show..

I'm 50/50
I used to be just 25% music, until alot of my local PH's showed there
was a lot more to JB's catalog than just SYKBH
(which is what drove me to get so faced in the first place!!).
it can be such an evil, but intoxicating cycle...

I voted 25% music, but it's probably closer to 10%. We'll probably sit the next concert out and just listen from the tailgate on RM.

if you sit out, then Al can go in!!
I voted 50/50....I started, like most, going for the music. First couple I didn't know about the tailgate....but I learned fast.
I still try to get a good seat, but many times the seat in the parking lot is the best.

For me it depends on what has been going on in my life in the months prior to whichever show I go to.
Tailgating is an event all in itself that starts day and night before with the roadtrip and then continues the day fo the show starting with a parking lot breakfast buffet with people I only see once a year or so and then for the next 14 hours until the show starts. In all of my years of shows, I've only witness one parking lot "issue" and that was with obvious non-fans.
The concert itself is something to behold. Being a guys guy on the exterior, I am man enough to admit that at times I literally get misty eyed as I look out of the crowd and watch the party. As we've all discussed so many times, Jimmy's words (and others) just hit that spot in your mind or heart that reminds you of the good times and bad times in life. Sometimes it reminds me of family, friends, places, spaces, etc. Other times I am just mystified at the control Jimmy has over his fans in a good way. Turning around from the 10th row to see 50,000+ people doing FINS left and right is sometihng to see.
See you all in Cinci in a few weeks!

I'm 50/50. I can't imagine a concert without the tailgate beforehand...and I can't imagine a tailgate not capped off by a concert!
Of course that's not to say that I wouldn't do one without the other. I probably would, but it would just seem odd.

Having travelled for a tailgate, and gotten looks from folks when they asked, "what do you mean, you don't have a ticket? Would you like help getting one?", I don't have to imagine one without the other. But, your mileage might vary.

It's really 50/50 for me. I enjoy seeing "Buffett Friends" as much as hearing Jimmy live. Hearing a new song live is a big plus but so is seeing people that I don't see but at the concert.

25/75 for me.
The last couple of shows that I went to were just okay.
I really enjoy the parking lot the most.
It's been hard to top that feeling of my first show as well as seeing him up really close in Margaritaville Orlando a few years back.

Zero.
I answered 100% music. I tailgated at Tallahassee for the first time, so I'm still a novice at it. It's the icing on the cake. We go to the show for the music and the phun of being in the concert arena with a whole lot of phun.

I love a good party, but I LOVE great songwriting and music. If I had to choose between the two (and please don't make me.) I'd go with the music.

I voted 75/25. The first few times I went to see Mr. Buffett, there was no tailgating, no parrotheads, no drinking(well maybe a couple drinks). You just showed up about 5 minutes before the show, bought your ticket, grabbed a soda, went to your seat and enjoyed the show. The next few times we went we had to wait in line a little bit before buying our tix, grab a soda, a seat and enjoy the show. Then the lines got longer, and then you had to buy your tix in advance, then you waited in line to buy tix in advance. Then, while waiting in line to buy tix in advance you met people who enjoyed the show as much as you did, then they were nicknamed Parrotheads. THEN, after buying tickets, in advance, for the lawn, with other parrotheads you all met in the parking lot about an hour before the show to have a drink, and it grew from there! That's way I voted 75% for the music!!!!
