The last couple of shows that I went to were just okay.
I really enjoy the parking lot the most.
It's been hard to top that feeling of my first show as well as seeing him up really close in Margaritaville Orlando a few years back.

I agree, they seem to be just OK in the last 3 years or so. If it wasnt for the party I would be hard pressed to cough up the dough. I hate the talk-singing older guys do. I almost wish he would let Mac or Peter sing sometimes. Ya know, just one or tow songs. It would be cool!

Ummm....he's old. I mean, what is he is, 60, 61? He's never going to sound like he once did. I don't expect him to sound like he used to; I just want the chance to hear him do some of my favorite songs live. First concert I ever went to was CSN in 1988 and they did "Suite: Judy Blues Eyes" and "Southern Cross" and they were nothing like they used to sound, but I didn't think they would 20+ years after they recorded them, just like I don't with JB.

Right down the middle. I consider it an all-day event with 2 distinct phases.

I actually think his voice sounds BETTER in the last couple of years than it did in years past. Voice therapy? Taking better care of his voice? Who knows, but I think he actually sounds better.

I go for the tailgate & friends.
I wouldn't miss the show - I'm a Parrothead or I wouldn't be there, but the songs don't vary much show to show.

True indeed, especially on the last couple of albums.
Only time I've noticed it being a little rough is at the end of a show and that's to be expected after nearly 30 songs.
And to tell the truth, the reason why I have not enjoyed that last couple of shows is because I was way up in the nose bleed section and could barely hear it.
I'm gonna have to splurge for some floor seats one of these daze.

I go these days more to hear the Coral Reefer Band than Jimmy. They are the best and the nicest people. I have a great time at the tailgate before.

I voted for 100% music although I enjoy the all day
tailgate with new and old parrothead friends too. I guess
I just appreciate hearing JB live because the music
still means a lot to me. He's been the background
music to my life for the past 30 years. There is always
at least one special moment(if not more) at each show
that more than makes up for the "same old same old"
that many people seem to complain about. Sometimes
I think people just overanalyze a concert experience that
has been unique for many years.

Tailgating is actually new in my concert history.... so I would have to say the music for the most part. The tailgates have become a added bonus!

100% for the music since there was no option "staring at his adorable self"
Seriosly, it's the man himself-the charisma. I love the little stories he tells and the news of where he's going next. The band (best in the land!) is also reason enough. Tailgating really isn't for me although it is fun to see all the crazies who love him as much as I do.

I'm 50/50, but I think it depends on more than on thing...we used to go in huge groups and it was almost a reunion of type, now with obligations outside of Buffett the groups are smaller, but its still fun. Large groups were a lot of work and a lot of cash flying around the country. Saw 6 shows in one year as my record and 30 in 6 years...cut way back since then. They were fun and I'm fortuante to be in the midwest where he plays a bunch of shows...
Sure I fast forward through some songs on the ipod when sitting here at work, but the songs are better after spending the day in the lot with friends and (hopefully sun) and its all part of the day...a show w/o fins would be odd, but you won't find me listening to the 7 versions I have on my ipod very often...
To ramble on a bit more, I go to 'buffett' when people ask me my plans, its not a concert, its usually a weekend and an attitude...if I'm going to see another artist, that is what it is...its a U2 concert...not tailgating, hotel parties, concert, after parties, Mac shows the night before (or between), painting the car, sneaking closer, wondering why I couldn't of been at Navy Pier when Jimmy was riding by to make the movie for 'the city', knowing it will be hard to ever beat the energy at Wrigley field on a certain Sunday night even if the cubs ever make it to the series...I go because I can, because its been a blast in the past, and if he's still playing, I'll be up early in March buying tickets for events that are months away for more money than I'd ever thought I'd turn over for tickets to a repeat performance of a show I saw in 1994 and countless times in between

My first concert was when I was 16, 08-16-1996, so Jimmy holds a special place in my life. I had a drought for a few years, being that I couldn't be seen with my mother at a concert (silly, I know). Started going with my buddy Mike, and now my fiance Heidi, and we have a blast every year! At the 05 show, I had been at the neighbor's house hanging out and drinking all night, was walking home with a beer in hand and son of a B****, a cop stops and arrests me for being drunk in public!!! I explained that I was 30 feet from my front door, and that I was just next door, no dice...so I spent the morning in the county slammer, mom bailed me out, and we made it to the show at about 3pm, ridiculous headache/hangover...great show!!! Sometimes at a Buffett show I recall how previous year's shows and get all teared up. It's always a great time!

I am a 100% music and atmosphere. I enjoy seeing people happy and enjoying themselves. Sometimes the enjoyment goes a little too far but that is part of the experience. Jimmy makes people happy, hard to top that in my opinion. You will not see me leaving a concert and saying, I can't believe he didn't sing.....................each concert is special, even after all these years. Always special.
