It's the 10th Anniversary of Buffett News, originally known as the Feeding Frenzy Page. I started this website in July 1997 during the Havana Daydreamin' Tour primarily to keep track of the set lists and the Stumpo El Bando feature that Jimmy did during the tour. In September 1997 news content was added to the site (keeps me busy on a daily basis).
Leave a message and let me know how long you've been following Buffett News along with your most memorable moments.
I am a new phlock member so to speak and I found BN when I was invited to my first Buffett show, Wrigley Field, 2005. I quickly became addicted and had to have my BN fix on a daily basis. I look forward to getting back to having more time someday to feed my need.
Thank you for all that you do phjim. I have made many new phriends because of your hard work and dedication to this site. Phins up!
Thank you for getting this started and giving me the opportunity to meet wonderful people, keep up with all the news, and find out where all the parties are!
Congratulations Jim! I have been with you since the early 2000s. Just took me way too long to join in the fun! Thanks for being a wonderful resource for all things Buffett!
joined in 2001, having lurked some before that. joined initially because of the set list threads and the opportunity to listen to the concert and chat with other fans.
It's a great site, and I have met some wonderful folks here-thanks so much, Jim!

Jimmy Buffett, 9/4/05, Wrigley Field
I came here first circa 1999 looking for info. Then sometime in 2000 the message board was created. The message board had topics but it was plain text and was still the best place to get Buffett info. I remember there being folders on the left side of the page that broke each topic into sections.
One thing I remember vividly was usernames were not required back then, anyone could post under anyname they wanted.
Later in 2001, we organized the first ever Buffettnews preconcert gathering @ Mo's in NYC for the 9.11 show without BN that would have never happened..

Thanks for the dedication and effort you put into the BuffettNews site. I have enjoyed the community the news and the even handedness you exercise as administrator.
It is the web site for Parrot Head news and its community today. Other sites have come and gone in the 12 years I have been on the 'Net, but your site is fun, informative and updated regularly, unlike some other web sites. The necessary evil of advertising is kept tasteful and is not that intrusive.
Thanks for all you do, for the great friends I have been able to get in touch with. I wish you more success and thank you again for your efforts and time.
All the best,
David

Thanks for everything you do to make BN the BESTEST Buffett site on the net!
I can't say when I first became aware of BN, (but I did have another screen name before my current one).
I've met some AWEsome people from this forum.
The networking and knowing people with a similar attitude about life is the most important thing I've gained from my time here.
Some people never find it, some only pretend
But me, I just want to live happily ever after every now and then.

I found this site in 2001 (Beach Odyssey tour) as a result of a Google search for "Buffett setlists." I was getting ready for the Minneapolis show & wanted to pick a good (i.e, less favorite) song for a beer & bathroom break. I found the setlist forum and have enjoyed listening and chatting during shows ever since! Thanks, Jim, for providing this little piece of paradise
Thanks for 10 years. It's hard to belive I've been hanging out here 5 already!
Buffettnews helps me get through the winters, and gets my excited for the summer tours! You are all a bunch a "crazy aunt rachels" to me. And I love BN dearly! Keep up the good work.
I first found BN as a link on RM.com in late 2004 after the Jones Beach concert. I started reading and lurking and finally took the plunge in March 2005. One of the best parts about BN IMO is that it really opens you up to different people and you witness lifestyles (for lack of a better word) that you would never see if you stayed in one spot your entire life. Thank you for all the great times that I have had because of BN (see above). It truly is THE best Buffett site on the net, and I know it's only going to get better. Thank you for all of your hard work to make this place as awesome as it is.
Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar
