OK so those who know me... this is a big thing
you know this is a yearly thing. My Dad is . Uh 78?
thereabouts
and after two years back telling me He didn't know how many
years he could continue to hunt..
We drew deer tags for the area we have hunted 7 out of our 12
seasons living in Idaho.
these are anterless tags only.. just meat for the freezer..
but we are good to go..
BTW.. Jimmy you can now feel free to announce the
Hollywood show between the two Vegas shows,
that is when I will be gone..
I live on the south coast of England.
For the past 2 days my dogs have 'found' dear at the back of my house!
Now, over here we have a strange law. If I am driving down the road and hit & kill dear, I am not allowed to take it home, BUT the care behind me is allowed to take it home!

if we hit a Deer.. it goes to one of a few places.
the "mission", a poor family, or the Zoo.. for the tigers..

Now how JACKED UP is that? Santa out killing deer
they call it antlerless...meaning the females...unfortunately, some take a long shot and get very young males (yearlings), so young they don't have their antlers yet, or just bumps....
you can only imagine their weight...
I'm sure that Wayne is not one of those hunters, nor his Dad...you don't trophy hunt do you Wayne?
When it goes from full to crescent...I move in and out of tune...Everlasting Moon....

nope we don't.. but..
I got a little buck last year.. his antlers were about 2 inches long..
one was pointing staight forward..
and I shot at ..50 yards?
but He was over 2 years old.. legal.. and I am sure that they wanted him out of the gene pool..
Good luck hunting, and I also know how important it is to go hunting with your dad. I loved going out with my dad, early in the morning, etc. I haven't been able to go hunting for a few years since I'm not in my home town. Might have to get back to the traditions.

for sure Wayne, I've seen some that needed to be also...
I dislike bow season worst than gun, I've seen too many deer with arrows sticking through them because the hunter didn't track..
sorry assed hunter
Good Luck, Wayne, and Dad

I'd encourage you to make that time happen. My Dad passed this January. He LOVED it when my brother and I would come back for a few days and hunt, shoot pool and visit his favorite bars. I regret the years I thought I was too busy with work and did not go. Now, I never can do it again. It's a precious memory Oz.

thanks.. I feel the same.. I know It makes the Fall a little tough
as far as scheduling a show. or even MOTM
but for me the point was driven home when my dad told me two
years back that He did not know how long this would last..
