I Will Play For Gumbo - makes me smile every time.
Some other good songs here, but that one is a goodie.

Semi-True Stories, it's hard to go wrong with a Mac song.

I had a VERY tough time deciding between Beach House On the Moon and Flesh & Bone.
But, since I am THE very definition of being light years behind the age they call stone, I chose the latter.

Here's my Beach House on the Moon story..........
When my Mom was sick, I was her care giver.....not her primary care giver, her only care giver......one day I snapped.....just couldn't do it for a while...took of in the car and this cd was in the changer.....for some reason, I couldn't get it to eject and I couldn't make it forward to another cd.....this was never one of my favs and I didn't want to listen to it.....or so I thought. So I drove around for about three hours listening to this cd....alternately smiling, laughing and crying......when "Pacing the Cage" came on.....it touched my heart in a way I can't explain.....and it helped me come to a place where I understood what my Mom was going through.....that she was truly pacing the cage waiting for the outbound stage.....her body had failed her and she was waiting for release......she truly had lived too long.
Two days after this she died......the next time I drove the car, the cd changer worked just fine.
I used the lyrics of this song for the eulogy and closed her funeral service with it......I still rarely get through it without tearing up.....I know it's a Bruce Cockburn song......but to me it is and always will be 'a Buffett song'.
Now I love BHOM and I listen to it a lot.......Permanent Reminder is my other fav from this one.....
Probably way more story than you wanted..........but that's my story.....

Oysters and Pearls because I love Ann Morrow Lindbergh and this song is totally beautiful and honest.
Still it's all a mystery this place we call the world.

Semi-true Stories. Love Lucky Stars also. Pacing the Cage is great but is kind of a downer song that you have to be in the right mood for. Confession: I actually love Math Suks and dutifully sing along each time I hear it.

From the first time I heard it, I thought I Will Play for Gumbo could easily become a SYKBH.
As an aside, I had a number of Buffett CDs loaded in my car in 2001, and for about a month following 9/11, I listened to NPR and not music. When I returned to the CDS, the song that came up was Waiting for the next explosion

a song that he is unlikely to perform anymore.

Pacing the Cage. Just a beautiful song, even if it's a Bruce Cockburn cover...
