Well this does not look good for the Pats. If they are found guilty hammer them. They shouldn't be allowed to slide, or get off with a light fine, especially as it is not the first time.
According to Bill Parcells, all teams do it (steal signals) and have been doing this "for a hundred years". I think this is just another way of Belichek tweaking the NFL's nose over one of their numerous stupid rules.

tweaking the nose or not, rules are rules, and they are talking serious repurcussions--loss of high draft picks, fines, Belichek getting suspended. Don't know if it's worth it.

Here is the penalty I would impose.

1) The Patriots forfeit the game against the Jets
2) Belichek should be suspended 8 games without pay
3) The Patriots fined $100 million (yes that is one hundred million)
4) They lose ALL chances to gain the first round bye this year
5) They lose ALL draft picks at this years draft.

This would send a message to all teams that doing what they did isn't worth it.

Just heard good news about Kevin Everett.

Everett's prognosis improving

Tuesday, Dr Cappuccino says, "We may be wittnessing a minor miracle." He said that because, today, Kevin Everett was able to voluntarily move his arms and legs, a marked improvement over yesterday. He also noted that the MRI scan taken after the surgery showed only a small amount of swelling in the cord. Those are both good signs.

I like those penalties aeroparrot. I would add that the entire team be suspended and each of the teams they were to play this year get an automatic Win for that game.

:o  Wow, talk about killing a mosquito with a nuclear weapon. Knowing the defensive calls is of limited tactical value. By the time you see them and decipher them it doesn't leave you enough time to call a play before the NFL shuts off the QB helmet radios. A QB such as Brady can figure it out in less time just by scanning the alignments and using info gleaned from the NFL supplied game tapes. Talk about a lot of hooey about NADA!!! :P

You have to remember that the NFL is a "good old boys club". The owners look after each others interests and doing this would hurt the league monetarily.

So that makes it right?!?!

But there's only one team that's been caught (SEVERAL TIMES). And they should be punished appropriately. As any team that may be caught in the future.

Goodell is no softie. And if he tossing guys out of the league left and right onto the suspended list for other infractions, he should be putting the "Genius" on ice for a while too.

Belichik always has been a no-class, vindictive cheating dog of a head coach, but now he's been exposed for all to see.
The Patriots should be forced to forfeit the victory from NYJ, and the head coach suspended for the next 4 games.

severe...yes.

It makes the showdown v. Chargers all the more interesting, too! 8) :P

Anyone watch the late Monday night game (49ers/Cardinals) on the NFL network? At some point in the last 10 minutes of the game, they showed some stat for the 49ers and on the screen, they showed this:

San Francisco 48ers
<some random stat>

I had to rewind the game, twice, to make sure I wasn't seeing things (it was late and I'm a bit sleep deprived). Yes, they had it as the 48ers. Whose running the graphics over there? :)
