I don't know, they were expected to win 13+ games this season so if he didn't get it i could understand. Someone like Romeo Crenell or Mike McCarthy would have both been good choices as well.

I was surprised, at first, to read this is the first time in 37 years they have fired a coach, but then the more I thought back, it sounds right.
What are the chances Parcells hires a retread coach (Jim Fassel??)? My bet is he goes with a young coordinator. Some are saying BC's head coach Jeff Jagoniski could be a strong canidate. I just don't see Parcells hiring a guy like Jagoniski.
He will go after one of the Dallas coaches Garrett or Spagsomething don't have the name in front of me....also Mike Singletary will be interviewed if i had to take a guess!!!

Don Shula won it in 1972 when he went 14-0 in the regular season. The Miami Dolphins had previously been fined and striped of a first round draft pick for tampering in order to get Shula. Don Shula negotiated the new contract with the Dolphins while still under contract with the Baltimore Colts.

Bill Belichick probably deserved to win it this season but both Crennel and McCarthy were just as deserving.

16-0 is 16-0. Belicheat deserves the win. He's still a piece of crap, but he deserved to win this award. And I'm a fan of the guy who finished 2nd...

took him years to stockpile picks and free cap space to bring in guys who got him the 16 -0 . . . just the way I see it . . . not easy to build a team like that in the current NFL pay system.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

No matter WHAT the expectations were, if a coach who takes his team 16-0 doesn't get Coach of the Year honors, the award shouldn't exist.

He will be a DE in the NFL . . . but he did back the line as well in college on a couple 3 - 4 formations . . .

And, yeah . . . I would certainly try to trade down if that kid isn't healthy . . . if he is than why not take the gamble?

i agree....but i'd like to trade down still have a 1st round pick in the top 10 ...pick up another 2nd round pick giving them 3 second round picks( they have the Chargers for the Chambers Trade)....haveing 4 of the 1st 60 picks would be nice!!
