In the 1996 draft Parcells wanted to draft DE Tony Brackens but Bob Kraft and Bobby Greir over ruled him and took Terry Glenn. This was the beginning of the end for Parcells. This was his last season with NE and he didn't leave the team in the most ethical way.
A good article about Parcells draft history.....he has had some good drafts and some not so good drafts. But the good out weigh the bad.... but he was coaching these players he drafted.

Parcells drafts: Hits and misses
Drafts in which Bill Parcells was a part of the team's organization, either as a coach or manager. Parcells had a lot of help early on, from the Giants' George Young and also took advice from two other owners - New England's Bob Kraft and Dallas' Jerry Jones:
Giants: The team selects future starters DB Terry Kinard, DT Leonard Marshall and OT Karl Nelson in the first three rounds. They also get DB Perry Williams in the eighth round and kicker Ali-Haji Sheikh in the 11th.
Giants: The team lands defensive anchors Carl Banks and William Roberts in Round 1. They later add QB Jeff Hostetler, LB Gary Reasons, and WR Lionel Manuel.
Giants: They don't hit a home run with the first pick - fullback George Adams - but they snare TE Mark Bavaro in Round 4.
Giants: New York solidifies its defensive line with first-round pick Eric Dorsey and makes a big splash in Round 2 with Mark Collins, Erik Howard and Pepper Johnson.
Giants: The need for offense brings solid receivers Mark Ingram and Stephen Baker. But the best receiver, Cris Carter, doesn't go until the fourth round ... to Philadelphia.
Giants: A poor draft overall - New York gets starting OT Eric Moore in Round 1, one spot ahead of Michael Irvin. OT Jumbo Elliott is a worthy Round 2 selection.
Giants: A terrible first four rounds for Parcells and company, but the Giants again manage to find a few contributors in later rounds - RB Dave Meggett at No. 132 overall, TE Howard Cross at No. 158 and DB Myron Guyton at No. 218.
Giants: Finally, a first choice sticks around awhile, as Rodney Hampton becomes the team's starting RB. But the team gets nothing from its next nine picks. New York does get kicker Matt Stover in Round 12.
Giants: Health problems force Parcells to retire just after the draft. It isn't a good one. The club gets RB Jarrod Bunch with the final pick of Round 1 (Brett Favre goes six picks later) and LB Kanavis McGhee in Round 2. The one pick that pans out is WR Ed McCaffrey in Round 3.
Patriots: Parcells returns to coaching and quells rumors about trading down the No. 1 pick and selects QB Drew Bledsoe. He gets a steal in the eighth round with WR Troy Brown.
Patriots: New England does well again in the first round, getting DE Willie McGinest. They add OL Max Lane in the sixth round.
Patriots: The beginning of the dynasty starts to form. The Patriots select DB Ty Law in the first round, get LB Ted Johnson in the second round and add RB Curtis Martin and DB Jimmy Hitchcock in Round 3.
Patriots: A near disaster for New England - Parcells wants to take DE Tony Brackens in Round 1 but is talked out of it by owner Bob Kraft. Instead the team lands star WR Terry Glenn. Parcells felt the team could have grabbed Muhsin Muhammed in Round 2. The club then adds DB Lawyer Milloy in Round 2 and LB Tedy Bruschi in Round 3.
Jets: Parcells bolts New England and lands in New York, trading the No. 1 overall pick. The team gets LB James Farrior in Round 1, WR Dedric Ward in Round 3 and Jason Ferguson in Round 7.
Jets: A miserable draft for Parcells and his crew (could it be because the Jets had to give up four picks just to sign Parcells away from New England?). Here's who New York got in Rounds 2-3: DT Dorian Boose, DB Scott Frost and DB Kevin WIlliams. Here's who they passed over: C Olin Kreutz, DE Leonard Little, LB Jeremiah Trotter, WR Hines Ward and RB Michael Pittman.
Jets: Putrid draft: Not one of their eight picks, including second-rounder Randy Thomas, pans out. Among those they pass up: LB Joey Porter and DB Mike McKenzie.
Jets: Parcells' final draft in New York is one of his best. New York nabs DE Shaun Ellis and LB John Abraham with back-to-back first-round picks, adds QB Chad Pennington six picks later and gets WR Laveranues Coles in Round 3.
Cowboys: Parcells and Jerry Jones start to build another Dallas power, selecting CB Terence Newman, TE Jason Witten and LB Bradie James.
Cowboys: Dallas doesn't have a first-round pick (it trades it for a first-rounder in 2005), but snares RB Julius Jones in the second round and lands WR Patrick Crayton and DB Jacques Reeves in Round 7.
Cowboys: Parcells and Jones at their finest. First round: DeMarcus Ware and Marcus Spears. Second round: Kevin Burnett. Fourth round: RB Marion Barber.
Cowboys: Already set at running back, Parcells and his brass pass up Laurence Maroney and Joseph Addai and take Ohio State LB Bobby Carpenter in the first round.
