Cincy Tailgating - 07/26/07

Post by cwagner532 »

Hola all you Parrotheads!

I hope I'm not duplicating, but I looked and looked and couldn't find the answers I need.

This will be my first Buffett concert at Riverbend in Cincinnati and I was hoping someone could give me some info on the tailgating. As most all ampitheatres say in their rules no tailgating is allowed....but I have not found that to be enforced at the ones I have been to. However, I realize there is a first time for everything and just want to go prepared for a good time. Can anyone who has been there before shed some light on this for me? I'm bringing a large group and just want to know if we'll be able to hang out in the parking lot prior to the show or if anyone has suggestions on where good tailgating spots would be. I am not very familiar with the area around Riverbend so anything you can give me would help!

I appreciate any help!!

The show at Riverbend is a little different than other venues, like Pittsburgh or D.C., in that you can't tailgate in the actual Riverbend lot. In fact, one time I took one step into the Riverbend lot holding a cup of beer and was instantly screamed at by security people on bikes to throw my cup away. However, there are a bunch of other lots all around Riverbend where you can tailgate. One of those is the River Downs lot(I think it's called) which is next to Riverbend. This is a paved lot and it's pretty big. There are also like 3 or 4 grass lots across the street from Riverbend where there will be tons of people tailgating. I always park in the Coney Island lot, for free if I'm not mistaken, and then walk over to where people are tailgaiting. Don't worry...there is a really good party atmosphere for the Cincinnati show. You'll have fun no matter what. Hope this helps a little.

Also, check out the who's going to Cincy thread. There is a map of the area you can look at and possibly some other info...might be hard to sift through, though, seeing as it's already 116 pages long.

its very important you show up early, there is plenty of available parking if you get there soon enough, if you show up too late, youll still be able to find parking but not necessarily with all the tailgating folks. cinci is by far the best buffett show i have been to, so you will have fun. :P
