I was watching the Sports Reporters on ESPN yesterday morning. When they got around to talking about college football, one of the panelists said when USC plays Notre Dame there's a chance USC could score 100 points.

Wow....if the Badgers don't stop winning games, they'll be in danger of falling out of the rankings completely!!!!
They were ranked #5, then won a game. Dropped to #7.
Now they won another game. Dropped to #9.
I guess style points count...

I see your point Cap........It's unfair that while some teams win ugly they don't seem to drop in the rankings while others do need the "Style Points" in order to keep their spot. As a Michigan fan, I admit we tend to get the benefit from the pollsters

(NO SH*T YOU SAY!) That's one reason polls shouldn't be done until the midpoint of the season.
But to your point, granted the Badgers & Citadel were 21-21 at the half.....but Wisky opened it up to 45-21. In the last 5 minutes of the game the Citadel puts up 14 meaningless points. So pollsters see, FINAL SCORE 45-31 and base their voting upon that. Ridiculous.

I know exactly how you feel! WVU was ranked #3, won , dropped to #4, then won, dropped to #5.
It's a shame that a W is not just a W anymore.

Sounds like how they treat UGA on a loss but let Tennessee lose a game and they'll do everything they can to keep them ranked as high as possible. I am surprised they didn't rank them in the top 15 after the loss to Florida and where are those Tennessee fans?

Poor poor Georgia, always getting the shaft.

Save your whining for later in the season, I'm sure you'll need it.

Oh I already have my crying towel ready for the meeting with Florida and I hate to admit this but we play Tennessee in their stadium and based on how we have looked, we won't win unless we figure out what is going on.

Way to beat up on those Terriers.
Are you ready for the Tigers to come to town this weekend? Unfortunately, I won't be there myself, but I'll be there in spirit.....GO TIGERS!

Well I understand that, I have had my lamentations for the Vols already and I am keeping the sackcloth and ashes handy.

Every year when this thread starts I'm grateful for 2 things:
1. there's no big time college football in the NY area (Rutgers having one good year doesn't count)
2. my college dropped football the year before I got there
I can just sit back chuckling and leave all the angst to everyone else.
