I knew you would. I actually thought about that during the game.12vmanRick wrote:dude.. I was so gonna raz the crap outta you if you made us go to the SECBob Roberts wrote:Whew!![]()
Well my Vols beat the Wildcats to be crowned the 2007 SEC East Division Champions and secured their place in the dome next Saturday for a chance to win the SEC Championship. It was not pretty and by no means easy, but Tennessee extends the longest winning streak in the nation with 23 straight years over the Cats.
GO VOLS!!!![]()

That would be the absolute best-case scenario for us. Tennessee as SEC Champions and Georgia as National Champions. Hey man, SEC all the way! I'm all for that! GO VOLS! GO DAWGS!12vmanRick wrote:I noticed that and here's something else I noticed. Tennessee could win the SEC, have beaten Georgia and yet Georgia has a chance at a title and not Tennessee? Ok, for those that have seen me gripe against Tennessee's ranking over Georgia in the past. That has come to a halt, the damn thing is just unfair overall.CaptainP wrote:"THE PERFECT STORM"
For those who HATE the BCS...here it is...
IF Missouri loses to Oklahoma
AND West Virginia loses to Pittsburgh (This season...anything is possible)
THEN it is possible that GEORGIA is ranked #2 in the BCS...
...therefore eligible to play for the Championship,
DESPITE not even being in it's own Conference Championship Game!!!!
That's what I am pullin' for......Ohio State vs. Georgia!!!!
Let's see the BCS defend THAT one....

If indeed the top 2 lose this weekend MY CALL is that LSU would gain enough ground to overtake Georgia. That's my story & I'm sticking to it!!!CaptainP wrote:"THE PERFECT STORM"

But there's no way WVU loses to Pitt unless White gets hurt!

There's no way WVU loses to Pitt unless the entire team gets hurt. You have to remember, we've got two very capable backup QB's. If White got hurt, we might only beat them by 4 TD instead of 8. hahaDr.Corona wrote:If indeed the top 2 lose this weekend MY CALL is that Oklahoma would gain enough ground to overtake Georgia. Pretty good article on a possible way to do a play-off system.
http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug ... &type=lgns
I honestly don't see why big conferences don't want a play-off system. Could you imagine how much money a school like Ohio State, and this is purely hypothetical, could bring in if they ran the table playing (and beating schools) like Florida, Oklahoma, and LSU on the way to a national championship? As Wetzel points out in the article, I'd like to see how teams like Hawaii and Kansas do against the powerhouse teams they don't usually face
One change I would make to preserve the history of the current BCS bowls would be to scrap the "BCS National Championship." I would make the semifinals, final, and create a consolation game out of the 4 traditional BCS bowls.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

Oh I know this. Doesn't matter if you're #2 or #1 this year. Remember this game is being played in Morgantown on a Saturday night. Remember that Pitt has many people injured. Remember that WVU is focused on THIS game only. Remember that PITT SUCKS.CaptainP wrote:Remember....WVU is ranked #2....
The #2 ranked team has lost 8 of the last 9 weeks...
Oh I know...you're probably one of the people that WANTS WVU to lose.

guilty as charged but White scares me. Jackson gave the OSU defense fits I can only imagine what he would do.MelliJellyBean wrote:Ahh, spoiled OSU fan are we?Capt.Flock wrote:nope that is me lets go pitt/ OklahomaMelliJellyBean wrote:Oh I know this.
