Another good inexpensive local place to eat is the Dixie Grill. Happy hour is from 3 to 6. PuPus are great and cheap! (1/2 lb snow crab for $8). The one in town has no view but the one in Pearl City is by Pearl Harbor. Gas is currently cheaper than in California and Nebraska. When I need a pick me up I do do Starbucks and also enjoy their smoothie partner Jamba Juice.

That wouldn't be any good. I mean, missing school and everything so you can do to Hawaii, hang out on the beach, see Buffett. No, that's no way to celebrate a birthday.

So it looks like this is the plan for Jeepgirl and I: Take the early flight to Honolulu on the day of the concert and stay until Sunday, babysitter permitting.

We should get there in time for any pre-concert phlockings!

Getting there on Wednesday and staying until Monday. Me and the girlfriend will be at the ResortQuest Waikiki Beach hotel. I've stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village 3 times before, but never been at this end of Waikiki. The show is going to be so close! Now lets hope I don't have a problem getting tickets this saturday. On that note...

Has anyone seen a show at the shell before? How is the lawn area? Still close enough to not have a problem? I can't imagine its anything like alpine valley or other venues like that :) (just based on what it holds) I'm just trying to figure out whether I just wanna chill in the lawn, or go for reserved seats.
