Tinley Park, lots of questions

Post by Summerlover »

Never have been to Tinley Park area so I have questions for the experts.

I would like to bring my camera into the show. Think I can get away with this? I would like to bring a big bag in for our tee's that we will buy.

We have lawn seating and would like to get in the center. Doors open at 6pm. What time do parrotheads line up to get inside the gates?

We also purchased the $20 parking. I am going to assume if we arrive about 3pm our parking spot would still be there. Correct?
Thanks everyone. We are pretty excited.
Big fan but first concert. Now Vegas looks
enticing too.

Cameras-you will have to sneak it in-it can be done, but be prepared to take it back to your car if you get caught.

Big bag-you generally can't bring "stuff" in. They do tend to put your shirts in a bag when you buy them if that helps.

Parking-the $20 spaces are up front, and they sell a limited number of them so that will be no problem. Be sure to walk around the lot though to see all that goes on!

from your parking spot, you should be able to see people starting to line up, or you'll notice the people walking by since they'll cut through your lot to get to the entrance. My advice would be to go to the gate furthest to the left when looking at the main gates, there will be alot less people over there and you'll be closer to the lawn when going in...you'll see what I mean when you get to the lot. I've never been on the lawn in Tinely so I don't know when the line starts...they pack them in so be sure to claim your spot...get a big tarp or something...

As for the camera, go for it, it will be a short walk back to the car if they bust you...I won't even being to describe what we've got in w/o much effort...the min wage teens that search you don't really seem to worry all that much, I can't blame them

I would like to bring a big bag in for our tee's that we will buy. This should be fine but it will be searched so hide your weed and booze.

We have lawn seating and would like to get in the center. Doors open at 6pm. What time do parrotheads line up to get inside the gates? EARLY the lots open at 3pm. The Lawn is pretty far from the stage. I've come to terms with this and settle to be in the lawn where I can sing and dance.

We also purchased the $20 parking. I am going to assume if we arrive about 3pm our parking spot would still be there. Correct? No idea. You paid $20 for parking on pavement and easy in and out which I've never had a problem with at Tinley Thanks everyone. We are pretty excited.

SEE YOU THERE! JUST HAVE FUN! I strongly recommend Vegas to Parrotheads. It's a whole different party.

The $20 lot is a set #, so you will be ok whenever you get there. If the lawn holds 15,000 people, they sell 18,000 tickets, it is WAY overpacked, but if you get there about when doors open you should be fine, it doesnt really fill up until right before show starts (slackers finishing up the tailgating :) ).
Enjoy the show!!

I am a slacker tailgater and am offended! :x

People fight for lawn space and it just isn't worth it. It kind of defeats the purpose of the whole vibe anyway.

I start up top and dance and shimmy almost to the front by the end of the show. The lawn is a party not a viewing station. There are big screens so I just watch those and dance.
