Seminolegrl, no one accused you of settling...you might want to read back. YOU are the one who brought up the height issue, which makes it look like you have an issue with it. No one here certainly does. Hell, my best friend is 5'9", her husband is my height, 5'4". She's caucasian, he's filipino. Yeah, they kinda look like Mutt and Jeff when you see them. Did either of them settle? Hell no, I couldn't have picked a better match for each other if I tried.

Those who worry too much about outward appearances and what others will think are destined to be unhappy, whether they are with someone or alone.....IMHO.

And maybe it's just me, but I'm not sure that Sex and the City is the best place to get relationship advice. :-?

BINGO!!!!!!

SO right.... My mother has been divorced since 1978. It was the 3rd time...she quit trying thank goodness. Her sister on the other hand is a mess. In 1991 her husband of 32 years left her for his secretary. Classic case of.... she got the royal shaft after all those years of devotion. (Well she thinks that anyway... I think it didnt happen over night.... )

But what's worse is she hasnt been w/o a man since. She married or lived with 3 of them since then..... and they have all died on her. That happens when you are in your senior years..... But one dies and she goes and finds another.... she cannot stand to be alone and she self admittedly says she needs a man to take care of and be whole.

Mother and I think she is nutts. She thinks it normal. Who am I to judge her?
