I posted this in another section and hoped I could get some help here......
We are driving into Gillette from about 3 hours away and although a huge Buffett fan I've never attended one of his concerts. Answers to a few questions would be greatly appreciated.
...We will be arriving early. (at least by12:00) Where should we park?
...Will there be food and drink for purchase upon arrival and before the concert? Should we pack a cooler?
...I understand tailgating is a big part so we want to be certain we obtain the full effect. Any ideas will be helpful.
...We have reserved a room in Staughton. How far a drive will it be following the concert.
Thanks for all your help.

Stoughton is two towns away (about 8 miles away). If you go towards Cobbs Corner (you can ask the people at the hotel for directions) there is a Shaws Supermarket there on the border of Sharon, Canton, and Stoughton. You can then continue on North Main Street in Sharon to South Main Street (basically the same street) you can either take local streets to Route 1 or take 95 North to Route 1 South or 95 South to 495 South to Route 1 North to the stadium.
In terms of parking, I've been hearing that the stadium MAY open the parking lots early even though they are not scheduled to open until 3:30 PM at the earliest. There are private lots all around the stadium that you can park at.

I think the time has come to figure out a plan for Sunday morning. Are we all going to meet someone before driving in to the Endzone so we can all park together? We could probably meet in front of the Endzone. How does 9 or 9:30 sound to everyone? Too early/late? We meet in front of the Endzone, those who will be there speak up so we know how many we are waiting for before heading to the actually parking spots.
The later arrivals will have the phone list so they can find us.

I suggest that we should take less cars as possible so that the parking fee be less per person. Maybe for those who are coming from the north, meet up there and caravan down to the End Zone. Those in the south, should do the similar thing.

The list is all set. Please PM a good email address if you want the list. For those on the list (you know who you are), are you ok for your numbers to go to those who didn't give theirs?

I'm flying in on the day of the show. My flight doesn't arrive until around 11:30. By the time I pick up my rental car in Providence and make the trek to Foxboro, it could be 12:30-1 before I arrive.
Just tell me where you all will be, and I'll look for you.
Oh, and I don't have name tag or a lanyard. I'll try to rectify that in the coming days, if necessary....

Looks like BN will be at the End Zone. Bring your walking shoes; it's apparently a healthy hike to the show.
Without traffic it would take about a 1/2 hour from Providence (Warwick, really, where the airport is) to Gillette. More, of course, on Sunday.

We are staying to the south in Milford but I want to take my own truck, I don't mind paying the fee. I like the fact I can leave or stay after the show at my choosing.

We can be there at 9:15am. There will be 6 of us in 2 cars...a red Explorer and a light blue Pacifica.

We plan on getting to The End Zone around 10. We should have picked up another RV by then. I'll have the phone list to call people in case there are any last minute changes in the plan.

The plan!
We start to meet at the Endzone at 9:30am Sunday and plan to head in by 10. We should be able to hang out in the front of the Endzone until everyone arrives. In the unlikely event that it looks like the lot is getting filled up fast i.e. the lot almost getting filled to capacity before 10 then we may have to call an audible and head in early. Phone calls will be made to anyone who is not there yet if this unlikely event happens.
Is everyone on board with start meeting at 9:30 and heading in at 10AM Sharp, that is 10am sharp, again TEN AM SHARP!
Those of you who will be there by 10 speak up so we know who we are waiting for, those of you who are getting in late get the cell phone list and call when you get close.

I am with a bunch of flakes, there is no way that I can get them there by 10 sharp

, will rely on the phone list.
But I like the plan!

Plan is good.

In the event that the main Gillette lots open early, say as early as 10am then what? Is the Endzone still the spot or do we go to the stadium lots?
In another thread someone claiming to be a Gillette employee said the parking lot attendants have been told to arrive at work by 8am on Sunday.

As for the police, Route 1 is patrolled by state police for every stadium event. Also, regardless of the event if Route 1 gets backed up the state police force the stadium to open up it's parking lots. In chatting with a few guys in parking last week I found out that their start time on Sunday is 8am. Hmmm, makes you think they are already planning to open prior to 3:30pm. Of course I have also seen people start tailgating in the breakdown lane - HA!
See you all the weekend!

I'll be flying out of Charlotte at 10 AM sharp
I've asked for the phone list. Is there any headmaster we should alert when we get close? If not, I'll just give a ring to Tommy or someone....

The parking lots will open when people get there . . . this is the 7th or 8th time I have tried to tell people this . . . most of the lots will be full by 11. Trust me.
**** I am referring to the independently owned lots . . . like the Outlaw BBQ as an example. Not sure why people are choosing the End Zone. I tailgate for all the Pats home games and nothing beats Outlaw - it is the closest independent lot to the stadium. It is also on the same side of Rt. 1 as the stadium which is huge for carrying alcohol. The state troopers let this lot out first as well. I think that the End Zone only works for those staying there . . . there are better choices. Just my opinion.

I'd like to be closer than the EndZone if other lots do actually open early as well. That be said, we might be headed for a lot of confusion at this point. I don't know the area, but what if we meet at the EndZone and then send out a reconnaissance team to scout the lots closer to the stadium?
I’m up for whatever is easiest at this point, and will go with the majority. I would be happy to avoid the ½ mile walk and would prefer being closer to all the other action as opposed to a satellite location if we can get in very early. Wow, I miss Great Woods!
