Well I have tried to go without before and when I do fall off the wagon it's bad.. I think that some of it is I am not talking to
60 people a day (down to like 6) and the water keeps me
hydrated.. when you talk for 8 hours straight, water does not
lube the throat, like soda does.

Great job RTW, I talk for my job as well, and I drink those vitamin waters, some of them are pretty good, the citrus and lemon one have a lot of flavor and do the trick for me. [smilie=coolup.gif]

so have I.. I just cut back..
the big thing for me. I almost always have both a water and a soda
(OK OK or a beer) open at once.. just make it a point
to match the water intake.. then little by little
when you reach for the pop.. drink the water..
it worked for me.. now I need a bigger water bottle for work..

That's awesome. I'm trying to cut down on my Diet Cokes. I only have 3 a day. but each one is 32 ounces.

I will have to try that approach; I think it is something that might work for me. I've always tried to just stop drinking pop altogether... and that worked for about an hour

Congrats, Wayne, I know how difficult it can be. I was extremely addicted to diet coke, and I still get the shakes when I see one...I won't even admit here how much of it I drank..

now it's just a treat, OK well, except when I'm drinking rum, which I drink more Diet and rum during the cooler months. I try the fruity/rum things when it warmer, like now...

I've been drinking water, also, but it's got to be icy, very cold...so I crush ice and put in my sport bottles.

I still miss the diet coke, but I know the water is much better for me and then I can have the diet coke with rum, which makes it a double treat.

I also use those sugar-free flavored single serving things you put in bottled water, gotta have to have it icy, though...

Best of Luck, I'm still an addict, I choose not to drink...
