You know, as a cyclist I have seen any number of devices that combine several tools into a small pocket-sized gizmo.  The problem is that while it is capable of performing the function of of, say, a pliers or a wrench, it doesn't do it as well as an actual pliers or wrench.
Tools — and I include tableware in this category — are designed for a specific purpose.  As any good mechanic or handyman will tell, always try to use the right tool for the job.  These combo-thingies are good in a pinch, when space is at a premium, or you're trying to reduce the total amount of weight you are carrying (as in backpacking), but it's going to be a long time before you see regular sit-down restaurants replacing their normal table settings with sporks and such.

That only happened the first couple times. After you build up enough scar tissue, it's not a problem any more. :pirate:
