Help-Hurricane Katrina

I am a 58 year old disabled x-drummer from Bay St. Louis, MS., an area devasted by Hurricane Katrina. I have probably played at some of the clubs that Jimmy played when he lived in Biloxi, MS., about 30 miles away. As most, I lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. Someone told me Jimmy Buffet has established foundations to help with permanent housing for those that have been displaced. I was loaned a FEMA trailer but I had to move out of it due to a blood clotting situation and the possible connection between that and the formaldahyde found in these trailers. I have applied for a Habitat for Humanity house but because I'm on a fixed disability income and cannot afford the $500 per month house payment. Can anyone direct me to a site that may offer some type of permanent housing assistance at a price I can afford?

Thanks to all,
Danny K. :(

Danny,

I am very sorry to hear about your specific situation. Unfortunately, we are a fan based message board and really have no affiliation with Buffett's specific endeavors to help those less fortunate. We do as a group help support troops and charities on a situation by situation basis. However, we are not equipped to help individuals. I wish I could point you in the right direction. Perhaps checking with your local social services office would be a good starting off point. YOu may also want to check with some of your local churches and civic organizations.

Please also check out this website for possible information from the government.
