Is Gillette Stadium...

....the largest stadium that Jimmy Buffett has ever headlined? He said capacity is 67,000

Were the Buckeye Lake shows bigger (one nighters only).

The two Gillette shows must be the largest attendance that Jimmy Buffett has ever garnered in one city as a headliner.

A real milestone for Jimmy!

oh, I thought you were going to say... "<i>a bad idea for a Buffett show</i>"?

The answer to that question is "<i>most likely, yes!</i>".

I don't know the answer to the other question. :P

for football. subtract behind the stage seats and add field seats, I think capacity is smaller for a concert....

**edit** apparently about 55,000 for a concert....

I just don't know why Gillette's a bad idea.

People on the board ache and ache about how hard it is to get tickets and how crazy scalper ticket prices are. Trust me, if you show up tomorrow without a ticket, you'll be able to buy a $120 ticket for under $50.

It's either ticket scarcity and high scalper prices - or plenty of tickets and low scalper prices.

There's really little middle ground.

given a choice, I'll take Great Woods any day of the week. Always had a ticket before show day, never paid more than face.....

I think given the choices, I think more PH's would rather pay less in parking and be able to get there whenever they want, whether it be the crack of dawn or noon or right before the show, and not be restricted to 4 hours of tailgating IF they are the first ones through the gates at 3:30.

Just for the heck of it I went to TM.com to see what kind of tickets were still left. The word verification was "Greed" once I had "Futile" come up when searching for Buffett tickets at Great Woods. You would think they would screen those words better.

Since it was mentioned, does anybody know the capacity of the buckeye lake shows?

This isn't sour grapes because I'm not there but giant stadium shows are the pits. Poor visibility, substandard sound. 25k capacity is the largest show I will ever attend for JB or any other performer. The worst buffett show I remember is the one at the Philadelphia baseball park.
