That's great news because around 11 they were tossed from the End Zone but I guess they got into lot P10 then. WHEW!Conolulu wrote:The BN group I talked to got in early...and called the others from the End Zone and are having a great time!![]()

I heard from Jen (SGH), she said the police were nice when they made them leave. She told me that I should get to the stadium by noon next week!

Seems like conflicting threads. Were they tossed from the endzone or not?ScarletB wrote:That's great news because around 11 they were tossed from the End Zone but I guess they got into lot P10 then. We have reservations to stay at the motel, so I'm not sure how that plays into the equation. Also, I have to wonder what would cause the police to come on to a private lot and kick people out, unless there were complaints.
I guess one of the following could happen:
1. The owner of the lot could call the police with a false claim of some type of disorderly conduct, etc., causing the cops to come and kick the people out, thus emptying the lot, allowing the lot owner to make more money by having a second wave of people pay and park in the same lot.
(yes, the above is quite a conspiracy theory, but hey . . . it sounds interesteing.
2. The owner of the lot could call the police with a legitimate claim of some type of disorderly conduct, etc. causing the cops to come and kick the people out, in hopes of deturring any further escalation of negative events.
3. The cops see a bunch of people parking in a private lot, and decide that they just want to throw their weight around. So, they go and just start kicking people out of the lot.
In all honesty I can't see the cops messing with people unless there's a true need for it. I would think that they would just assume let people have a good time and not waste time on people who are behaving, and try to keep tabs on the true potential problem areas that may brew during such an event.
This is just my 2 cents, but I'm sure we will here all about it tomorrow some time.
Talking to you is like clapping with one hand.

I think if you're staying there it's different, from what SGH communicated it was a matter of "These are the rules and we're enforcing them" I don't think they had any cause to do it and the End Zone certainly seems to be PH phriendly.icarus wrote:Seems like conflicting threads. I don't agree about New England in general, but you can have Gillette Stadium.blackjack wrote:Remind me never to go to New England..what a buch of d!cks!
We got to the area about 3:00, due to other committments. Took an hour in heavy traffic to get into a lot. The tailgating was great.
A little after 7, we headed for the stadium. The walk was very long, and after we crossed the highway, the path became very crowded and narrow. You were pushed along by this mass of people, some of whom were mooing (kind of funny in a sick way).
When we finally got to the stadium entrance (close to 7:30), the security lines were enormous. Guys were on one side, girls on the other. A mass of people on the other side made it impossible to find your significant other. Security wouldn't even let you stand there to find someone. Fights almost broke out.
Jimmy didn't play until 8:45. He had an opening act at 7:30. If we knew that, we wouldn't have rushed in with the mob. He played without an intermission.
After the show, we discovered that someone had stolen decorations, etc. and even some chairs from the area where we were tailgating. Never happened to us before.
Now 11:00 or so, it took more than 2 hours for the traffic to start moving from the back of the lot where we were parked. Apparently, security held us up and let the entire upper lot go first. When the first car started moving, everyone honked and cheered. Another funny but sick moment. Got out of the lot around 1:15, with a two hour drive to look forward to.
JB, if you are listening, go back to GW please.

Okay... Here's the real deal from someone who was in that BN group that started the day at the End Zone parking lot. Actually, it's more of a field behind the End Zone, but you know what I’m saying.
We had two RVs and we pulled into the End Zone field/lot at like 10:00 AM. They charged us $60 to park each RV. It took us about 30 minutes to get everything set up. Shortly after that 4 or 5 cruisers pulled into the End Zone and started telling all the tailgaters (there was only our 2 RVs and like 3-4 cars) that they had to leave unless they were actually staying at the hotel. The police did help us get our money back from the sketchy guy that was running the parking situation. It was actually quite comical to watch the “sketchy” guy try and talk the cops out of having to give us our money back. The lead cop was spinning his handcuffs on his finger as he insisted that he give us our money back.
So, we did as instructed and packed everything up and then collected our money on the way out of the lot. We then proceeded down to the Gillette Stadium parking lot P10, which apparently opened at 10:30 AM according to the cop that gave us the boot. It wound up costing us $300 to park both RVs, but money aside… We got the best spot in the entire lot and the tailgating was one of the best on record!
Pictures will be posted soon...

Im surprised to hear that story about the parking. I must have been in one of the upper lots because we only spent about 15 minutes in traffic on the way out. My only complaint about Gillette stadium was the wristband situation. Apparently, there were gates that you needed to enter if you only had field tickets, and they would give you a wristband. The problem was, they let people with field tickets into any gate, so when we tried to get on the field, they told us we had to go back to the other side of the stadium and get a wristband. When we arrived we found hundreds of people in the same situation who formed a massive line. The line moved rather quick but it was really poor planning on Gillette's part. If you are going to give wristbands, you need to restrict the field ticket people to certain designated gates, and not let them through other gates where they wont get wristbands without telling them.CTParrothead763 wrote:I don't agree about New England in general, but you can have Gillette Stadium.blackjack wrote:Remind me never to go to New England..what a buch of d!cks!

OK....Got to the End Zone around 10ish....Matt got the RV in around the same time...we set up...we were having a few drinks...and for the record ...there were maybe 5-6 cars parked in the back lot...our 2 RVs and a a few cars parked across the way from us......we saw them tossing the other people out....finally they came to us..the main concern was getting the money back...which happened...they told us lot P10 opened early..and if i recall that would be the only one...so we loaded everything back in...and drove up the road and into the lot....actually no problems what so ever...had no problem getting into or out of the stadium.....were i went in anyways.....went back to the RV relaxed waited for traffic to die down...Matt left those of us staying at the End Zone on his way...Thanks Again Matt....me personally thought it was more the hype then what really happened!!....But if anyone needs a room at the End Zone next week....i canceled 1...going in by a Bus next weekend!!

In addition to Mike's wristband story which, I concur ... was extremely annoying and just plain retarded. JB goes on stage at 8:45 PM and they shut the beer off in the entire frigin stadium at 9:00 PM. What the hell is that about?? Well, I kind of get what it's about, but 15 mins after the show starts. That's just a bit ridiculous, don't ya think?

By the way, I didn't mean that everything was negative. The show was fantastic, as was the tailgating.
As one other funny aside, regarding trash in the parking lot, I overheard the party tailgating next to us saying that for the $40 parking fee, Bob Kraft could pick up the garbage.

We were the first to arrive at the Endzone, we got there about 8:45am, there was no one there collecting money for parking so we went inside and asked about parking. The two people working the front were very wishy-washy, first they said no parking until 2-2:30, then they said we could park but couldn't start "tailgating" until 2-2:30. We asked what constituted tailgating and he said no grilling but we could set up chairs and drink. I told him I had about 5-6 cars and 2 RV's in our group which would be arriving in the next hour so he said he would let us go out back and park there. In the meantime we drove up and down RT1 and nothing was open and they had signs flashing that said "Lots Open at 3:30" . As Bob said we all set up and were having a good time until about 11:30 when a bunch of cop cars pulled in and one extremely p*** off cop came over to us, he wasn't p*** at us he was p*** at the Endzone, he said the Endzone was told not to allow tailgating an they broke the law by allowing us back there. He said if we were guest of the hotel we could stay, if not we had to pack it up and leave. A few people were guest and showed him their room key so he said they could stay. BUT then he said lot P10 was open right across from the stadium, music to our ears. When we heard that we all wanted to leave and the cop said he would get us our money back and had us follow him to the front. He told the sketchy parking attendant to give us back our money, they guy at first was not keen on doing that until the cop pulled out his handcuffs, after that he was on board with refunding our money. We all drove to the stadium lot, the tailgating was great there. Having the cop bust the the tailgating at the Endzone was the best thing that could of happened.
The Endzone seems like it would be a good lot to tailgate for football but not for Buffett. What doesnt seem fair though is they were no allowing any of the private lost to open until 2:30 yet they opened the stadium lots at 10:30.

ok, heres my two cents, because thats all i can afford right now.
We have been Buffett phans for many years, attending shows from Miami, Madison Square Gardden, Fenway and of course Great Woods. But i truelly feel that we took a huge f*^%&#$%$king on this show. The show was good, don't get me wrong, i loved the music. But the parking, way out of control, and if we don't think for a minute that the reason the State Police would'nt let the private lots open until later was puerly money based, as in Kraft lining someones pocket higher up to fill his lots first, we are all crazier than i thought. We came down with a pick up with a slide in camper and two following trucks with the goods, We hoped to be together but not the case, $150.00 later we are filed in with 40' diesel pushers and $100,000 motor homes, no exceptions we were told. They would not even let the followers unload at the camper so we could tailgate together. We were almost 1 mile apart. Needless to say i was not a happy camper, no pun intended. And as far as the police, i thought they were terrible, i work with police everyday and have never seen anything so messed up as the way they were routing traffic. Maybe i was just to fired up on the $150.00 to park and leave . As far as Gillette for a concert venue, bad bad idea, there is a reason why they don't play a Pats game at Great Woods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jimmy Buffett, Please don't do that to us again, we are true and loyal phans and this was a financila raping..... i can honestly say that if Gillette is on the menue for next year, there will be 10 extra tickets available.
But, with tongue in cheek, ....... we will see you next week.
We have been Buffett phans for many years, attending shows from Miami, Madison Square Gardden, Fenway and of course Great Woods. But i truelly feel that we took a huge f*^%&#$%$king on this show. Agree, 100%BottleofRum wrote:We were the first to arrive at the Endzone, we got there about 8:45am, there was no one there collecting money for parking so we went inside and asked about parking.
