A young couple was very much in love and planning marriage; before they could get married there was an accident and they found themselves at the pearly gates. Saint Peter was there to greet them. At the gates the couple inquired if it was possible to get married in heaven. Saint Peter confided it was new request and he would check into it. Saint Peter was gone for two weeks before returning. While waiting for Saint Peter to return the couple started to ponder marriage in heaven. A marriage in heaven would after all be forever and for eternity. When Saint Peter finally returned and said yes a marriage would be possible the couple then confided their concern and asked, “ Just in case the marriage does not work out up here, would a divorce be at all possible?”
Saint Peter became very flustered and blurted out, “It took me two weeks to find a priest and now you want me to find a lawyer”.
