Parking at Gillette: How I made out and the drunk girl
Does anyone know the lots that empty the quickest at Gillette? Any suggestions on parking to get out fast to get to 495?
We need to get home pretty quick. You know the drill, kids, young sitter, etc.
THanks

From what I understand it's kind of luck of the draw. Apparently the cops will empty one lot and then move to another one and so on, until all the lots are empty. If your lot is first you're out quick(like friends of mine), but if not you wait(like me, tailgated for 2 hours and still waited 30 min to get out). So You kinda take a chance, but be warned, they usually only let traffic out in one direction so if you're going north, but wanna go south you gotta go down the road and turn around...

It's nut's at times getting out. We parked in P7 and it was crazy because there was no one in the lot directing traffic so it was a free for all. We kicked back and ate and had a beer waiting about an hour before leaving and it took about 20 minutes getting out of the lot. Route 1 is another long line and that took an hour to get to 495 to head north. 495 south toward Mansfield/Cape Cod looked to be at a stand still due to an accident so I have no idea how long those poor souls stayed in line.

Good luck with that! I stopped expecting that kind of luck a long time ago!kmac wrote:Does anyone know the lots that empty the quickest at Gillette? Any suggestions on parking to get out fast to get to 495?

Sorry, I was wrong, we got out of there so fast tonight I couldn't believe it, less than 1/2 hour. We went to our friends after. I must go to bed now though because... "MY HEAD HURTS, MY FEET STINK AND I DON'T LOVE JESUS"!

We ended up parking down the road in a private lot across from the from the end zone motel. It was an atv/mc store and only cost $20.00 We got out in about three minutes. Easy ride down route 1 to 495 in five minutes
Thanks for all your help and suggestions.
Great show except for the drunk girl who fell on me 2 times in the first half hour. She was standing behind me. We were in section 112.
My words to her friend were " take care of your friend because next time. I will get security" She tells her friend "next time you will get thown out by security" . No problems after that.
Moral of the story: talk to the sober friend not the drunk one.

We were right with you! I thought we struck gold by getting our 45' "FINS BUS" out in ten minutes after walking to P10. Then to get put in a terrible reverse lane for an hour to go three miles to our parking spot for the night.NYCsharkling wrote:p-10 out in 5 min....but got stuck on route 1...
getting out of the stadium and through the construction fences is a PAIN!!! that took longer than anything!
Alas, still worth every minute. You NE phans were quite fun to see and party with.

Might want to avoid Jones Beach...the stadium is in a state park and they can't serve alcohol there, and technically you're not allowed to drink in the parking lot, but cops look the other way as long as its discreet.Jose' Cuervo wrote:Speaking of drunk...was it just me or was anyone else p*** off that no alcohol was being served during the show??
