I started seeing Jimmy in 97. Was just curious, for the others, what the cost of a tour shirt was in the late 70s and 80s. Did they even have tour shirts back then?
I'm really wondering how to retire mine. I can't imagine having one from the 70's!

Was the shirt more expensive than the ticket? Wouldn't expect YOU to know exact value, but was it Less or More?

Was the ticket about $10 at that time too?

The first time I paid to see him at a venue , it was $5....and it was 1975 at The Citadel.....The letter telling him he is not welcome there ever again is hanging in Margaritaville, in Key West......(after singing WDWGDAS)
I think Susan is right.....$10 sounds about right for the shirt.. ...and in 1977 , I want to say the ticket was $15??
First time I saw him it was cover charge to get in the bar, in 1974....He made me laugh, and made me cry...and I was hooked.....

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

When you can't find a shirt to date, you resort to paying for them?
You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say

I remember paying as low as $5.00 for a tour shirt and as high as $35.00 for one.

I remember t-shirts for $5 and jersey shirts (white torso with picture, 3/4 sleeves that were a solid color) for $8. This was back in the '70's.

Didn't follow Jimmy back in the 70's, but I'm pretty sure a ticket didn't cost anywhere near $15 . I saw the Stones in '78 for $10, so I can't believe Jimmy would have been more.

Were you into wearing ladies tanks from Heart in 1978?
It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening
Truly was our night to win
But the authorities insist on my leaving
Take care my American friend
