MOTM appearence?

Post by fintiki »

Lets See,,,
Jimmys doing four shows on the West coast, two in Vegas, one in Cali, and one in Hawaii, then East to of all places Tampa, during the same four days has MOTM to do two shows,(Thurs-Sat) then back West again to do two more in Cali, one in Tahiti, and one in Australia?
Sounds like there is gonna be a flight leaving McDill AFB loaded with Reefers for the (Fri.)Nov. 2nd Margariaville party on Duval and Flemming!
Just can't see Jim missing his own charity event!

toss up. might depend on how he feels that morning. and it would mean singing three days in a row; he doesn't do that any more....

as far as missing his own charity event..... it's not his, and he misses it more often than not....

if you go to MOTM expecting to see JB, and run around following the "Jimmy's going to be at (pick any KW location)", you'll miss a lot of the great things about MOTM.
Carry on as you know they would want you to do. ~~JB, dedication to Tim Russert

Good thing about staying where I am staying is that I am guaranteed to find out - so I dont have to worry about wondering

I am not going with any hopes or expectations. Not bragging, just blessed but I was able to be at MOTM and see Jimmy from the front row at the Casa in 2004. My plane lands in Key West at 3:48 on Friday. If I miss him at the Street Fest I will be upset but am also looking forward to the other great times. Fins up!

I've seen JB at MOTM twice. It was a bonus seeing him there but neither appearance was the highlight of my 5 trips to MOTM.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

it would be hard to top destroying a scooter with just having a little bald guy sing to you.

It was a highlight for me in '04...but it's far from the only highlight of those trips. And truth to tell, I was closer to the stage last Thursday at the Fillmore than I was to the Casa stage three years ago, in a smaller crowd. And I didn't need to get on a cramped, desert-dry airplane to see him either.

I go for the people and for Key West itself. Anything else is frosting on a very rich and wonderful rum-soaked cake. :)

Mmmm...rum...just a few more hours and I can have me some...

He didn't make it, and in his video taped message, stated that he would talk to his handlers about making sure they didn't schedule him at that time again.

I don't care that JB wasn't there. I don't expect him to be. But it was seriously disappointing not to see/hear Peter, Mac, and Club Trini play, and I also missed Doyle and other CRB members sitting in with various bands.... :-?
