Least Favorite Album

Post by rumdrinks »

Which album do you consider you're least favorite or least played album ?

For me it's a no-brainer: Beach House.
This one is way at the bottom of the deck for me. I will play it once or twice a year, just to make all the other albums more appreciated.

Not counting his first two albums (High Cumberland Jubilee and Down To Earth) or soundtracks, I would have to say it is a toss-up between Barometer Soup and Far Side Of The World. Even then, they have both grown on me and I enjoy them more now than when they were first released.

Beach House for me.
When I first became a Parrothead, I bought the yellow album, next Feeding Frenzy, then the box set followed by Beach House.
It was quite a let down to me, especially after cutting my teeth on older classics.

Beach House followed closely by TTWWY, but there's a CD stuck in my car so I can't play TTWWY to give it a serious chance...

Hot Water. It seems Jimmy was trying to re-invent himself during this period, and the invention went wrong. Then again it was the 80's, just about everything in music was "wrong" then.

I actually have favorite songs on each of the albums. I have burned CDs with just my favs that I play a lot. My sweet son loaded all 48? of the CDs into my laptop, so I can play those when the mood hits me. 8)

Oh...which album do I play the least???? probably Yellow
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

Hmmm . . . I rarely play the CDs anymore as I've uploaded all of them to my Dell Jukebox.

I think the CD I was most dissappointed in would be Hot Water. I had, ahem, accessed some files online and loved Smart Woman. When I started collecting CDs, Hot Water was an early aquisition, along with his early classics. I had so much hope. I was so let down.

There are a few good songs, Smart Woman, Prince of Tides, Great Heart, That's What Living is to Me, but I expected so much more.

Then again, I don't have Beach House yet, and I guess there's a reason why.

Its so strange to see people's different taste on the same artist. To me Barometer Soup is one of my favorites. I also liked FSOTW, most of them anyway.

Least favorite...I don't know. Can easily pick least favorite songs, but a whole album. That's tough.

It's hard to have a least favorite for me, because there are songs on every album that I like. The ones I listen to least only fall into that category because they are cassettes that I haven't replaced yet. I'd have to say SYKBH, but at this point, I don't even consider that an album anymore, it's that far off my radar.
Take me for what I am, a star newly emerging.
