If getting tickets on line is a long shot explain to me how I was able to get 3rd row center for JB's West Palm Beach show last month, floor seats for both Las Vegas shows last year and comparable seats for other artists at local venues here in NY, all on line. If tickets go on sale at 10:00 and you're trying to get them on line you can get out of bed at 9:55 and still be on time. Think before you write instead of trying to convince everybody what a f***ing genius you are, a$$hole.

LIPH .... My earlier message explains it. You got lucky online. Congrats. Buffet467 did not get lucky. My point was that the longest odds at getting tickets are online and on the phone, and if that is your chosen method of getting tickets and you fail, don't blame TicketMaster entirely. In fact most of the blame is your own. You didn't try hard enough to get tickets. Getting out of bed earlier and heading out to a TicketMaster location will increase your odds. Buffett467 chose not to do that (assuming it was an option), yet took no accountability for choosing the easiest option of trying online. When he failed, did he reflect that maybe, just maybe, he could have increased his odds by working a little harder? No he came in and flamed TicketMaster.
By the way, thanks at least for toning down the personal attacks with the *** and $$.

surfpirate - your methods make sense. There are many, many ways to get the tickets you need. Sometimes it's pure luck mixed with a little brain power. Try not to be offended by others jealousy. They just flat out don't know any better ways to get tickets, or they're just too lazy to try. I salute you with my fin up! More power to you!

Buffett playing only one show in the DC area is ridiculous!! You have 80,000 people vying for 25,000 seats. It's crazy!! I think it's a slap in the face to all the loyal Parrotheads in this area who have faithfully filled both Nissan and Merriweather every year for the last 20. Of all the venues Jimmy plays I would think the DC area would be worthy of at least two shows.

Congrats to all of you who were able to snag a ticket. Thank god for Radio Margaritaville!

Anon 146: At least there is ONE show up there. Atlanta got left off the list! Boy am I glad I went to the show in West Plam Beach. Don't know if my schedule will permit me to get to any of the other shows!

Congrats to the lucky Parrotheads who got tickets!

I dont think it's a slap in the face...and as GABuffettFan said, atleast he is playing ONE show. He wants to spend time with his family...we have to respect that. He's given us many many years of great entertainment, and for those of you lucky enough to go see him three or four times (or more) in one year, be thankful. Many of us cant do that. Give the man a break...I think he deserves it.

CrbnSol....

I have no problem with Buffett's desire to be with his children...it's probably something he should have done long ago. He should be commended. I just don't understand how he could exclude Atlanta altogether and only do one show in the DC area. I do realize there are scheduling conflicts at venues...I just do not see how he could play two nights in Chicago and zero in Atlanta.

Anon 146 - I agree, I think he should be spending as much time as possible with his kids. Maybe we have just become spoiled over the years! I was very surprised that he won't play here (Atlanta) this year, but there are some cities where he has NEVER played, so I guess I've been lucky in the long run. Hope you're having a great day!

I understand how people can get upset over stuff like that...perhaps it's not Bubba's doing...as you said, Anon, there are schedule conflicts (I'm not saying that he's not the one who decided against playig at certain venues, I guess we will never know that). We (Roanoke, VA) have never had the pleasure of hosting Bubba...about the only place in VA that he comes to is the Nissan Pavillion, which is 4 hours away from us. This year is the first time I'll be seeing him at the Nissan Pavillion and only the second time in my 19 years(more than half of which has been spent loving Bubba and his music) that I will be seeing him...and I consider myself a very lucky little kiddy to have gotten tickets. Let's just hope that next year he will be back full swing and ready to roll for ALL of the venues! Everyone have a great Tuesday and try to stay warm.

I think it's just terrible that HE is not playing Atlanta (and Nashville, and only once outside DC), I personally think he could cut a Chicago show and do Atlanta, or at the very least start a week earlier and include Atlanta, Nashville, & add another DC show.

He's actually doing 3 shows in the Chicago area - Alpine is only 1hr north of there.

As far as cutting a Chicago show do it. Thursday is not even close to selling out. Saturday Chicago is a little better. If Bubba is going to do two shows he might as well do them both at Alpine Valley. I feel sorry for those who did not get tickets this passed weekend and I really feel sorry for all the Parrotheads in Atlanta. You, guys need a show down there. From what I hear you, guys can really party. I will be sure to drink a few beers for all you up at Alpine this year. FINS UP!!!!!
