SOB. Well, I decided this year to try and get tickets online through ticketmaster. The past 4 years i've been getting up early, bringing an army to ticketmaster and usually getting a good draw in the lottery. Unfortunatly, I couldn't get anyone to go get lottery tickets with me this year, so i decided to stay home and try www.ticketmaster.com. BIG MISTAKE. The first 30 minutes I just kept hitting the refresh button. And by the time I was able to fill in my info it died on me. So i went back and filled it in, and got to the end part where it said "If you don't receive a conformation number within 5 minutes call blah blah blah" 5 minutes go by and no conformation number. I get my phone and dial away. After being on hold for 15 minutes the lady says "We don't have any information about the Jimmy Buffett concert." WHAT?!?! The concert went on sale 45 minutes ago and you have no information? So I get transfered to a supervisor after a little bitching. And the supervisor then just straight off transfers me to Customer Service. Now after being on hold for another 15 minutes I finally am able to speak to a customer service rep. Again, I got the answer "We dont have any information about the Jimmy Buffett concert". I didn't even want to deal with this lady, so i asked for a supervisor. On hold for ANOTHER 20 minutes and finally got a supervisor. I spoke to him and explained everything very calmly. Thankfully he was able to pull my account up and YES in that whole mess, I ended up getting 2 tickets! I wanted to get the full 6, but 2 is a start! Atleast girlfriend and I are definitally going to be going to the show. From now on, i'll definitally be going to ticketmaster and getting my tickets right then and there.

Rob, the key to ticketbastard online is to sign up early in My Account. You have your cc and mailing info all pre registered so it is really quick! I just used it today to get 8 for Chicago. I had trouble logging in at first cause it was when the Eastern timezone tickets were on sale, but once I logged in I was able to cruise around their website like I had privilages! It took me about 10 min to get through to finalize my order cause of traffic, but I was pretty successful. I have used online to get tickets for the last 2 years and will continue from now on! We always get lawn tickets, I really don't need to be there in person. Better luck next year!! Phins up^^^^^^

I got shut out this year- with 5 people in line in 5 different locations. Used the cell phone while in line to no avail. 30th back will get you nowhere. By the time they were only giving 2 tickets max, there were still 10 people in front of me. Looks like the only concert I'm gonna see is Live By the Bay on my VCR after I get home from the parking lot party.
I have a serious question. If ticketmaster is open for business all day, why do ALL tickets ALWAYS go on sale at 10:00. Why not stagger on sale times? Everyone knows that Buffett will sell out in less than an hour. Instead of having the phone lines jammed in all cities at the same time, why not start some cities at 10, some at 10:30, some at 11, and so on? Or put different artists on sale at different times. Buffett at 10, clapton at 11, backstreet boys at noon, etc. Sure would ease up the phone and on-line siutations. Does ticketmaster have a suggestion box? Anyone else with me on that one?
Please email me(my address is linked to my name above) if you have extra tickets for Star Lake in Pittsburgh.

I don't get it, am I the only person who can ever get tickets on TM.com? I hate ticketbastard as much as the next guy but, if you stand in line or sit at your computer at 5 till 10, you'll end up with tickets. If that doesn't work, show up at the box office a few hours before the show, you'll get a seat

All of you people against legal ticket brokers are ridiculous. Just because you were not resourceful enough or were not dedicated enough to get up early in the AM's, you moan about ticket brokers. If you dont like the system of capitalism here in the good ole USA, then move to CHINA!! (not on a slow boat!)

Dude, get a freaking life. If you didnt get tickets that is your own fault. Wake up earlier, research for the remote location, maybe even go to a ticketmaster outlet in a shady neigborhood, but dont place blame because you are too lazy to hit the pavement, get bleary eyed, and get the tickets. If you are so loyal, then why didnt you move your butt from in front of your computer? Yeah this might sound harsh for a phan, but I am fed up with all of you people who expect everything to work out just perfect for YOU. When there is 120,000 people who want to go to a concert for 25,000, DONT YOU THINK YOU MIGHT HAVE TO TRY HARD?!! I got up at 2am in the morning, went to downtown DC, was accosted by a drunk, but I got my tickets along with EVERYONE in my line. So I dont have any sympathy for you "phans," who cant seem to bring themselves to place blame where it is deserved, YOURSELF! These ticket brokers are mostly scum, but dont throw stones in a glass house, go TRY to get your tickets.

Anon- Resourceful has nothing to do with it. It's got a lot more to do with luck. 5 people spread out in all corners of the city at TM outlets, all armed with cell phones, and a few backups on computer after we found our sucky places in line thanks to the stupid lottery system. And we still came up with nothing. I think I worked pretty damn hard, and still came up short. Don't assume that everyone complaining here didn't already try their best to get tickets before venting here. Congrats on your ticket score- I'm glad it worked out for someone. But don't insult the rest of us. We were out there just like you. We just didn't happen to get as lucky as you.

Burgh- Mine had nothing to do with luck. I had spent half a day earlier in the week scouting, (on the phone and physically) the TM locations that were using lotteries and were not. I also was asking the TM employees what the lines were like, and scouting the areas surrounding the TM locations. Then, I got there at 230am, to be fifth in line. It is all a matter of being very thorough and working very hard to get the tickets, if you want them bad enough. If you dont have a fast computer, then go to your public (or local college) library which is probably on a fast Internet connection. If there are always lotteries and long lines around where you live, then look at the demographics. What ethnicities do not care about Jimmy Buffett? I examined the TM situation, as I always do, and this time it was not luck, but good hard work. Other times it has been luck, because I didnt check every base, for unexpected situations. Sorry you didnt get tickets, but all of this nonsense about blaming the scalpers and TM is ridiculous. No one ever thinks about how they should have done something different. How many people have said, "You know I didnt get tickets because I got up too late, or I didnt sufficiently scout my location?" No one says that, and they never consider it. So next year they will be once again be complaining about TM, scalpers, and a lack of luck. I on the other hand, will have tickets like I always do. You can either resent the things I have said, or use some of the HINTS I am giving away. It really is deduction and logic.

Did you ever think that if scalpers and ticket brokers didn't get so many tickets you wouldn't have to go to all that trouble? Maybe you could just go to your local TM outlet, at a normal hour instead of 2:00AM, and get your tickets.
The last time I stood on line at a TM outlet I was third on line. Less than 5 minutes after tickets went on sale all that was left was the upper deck at Madison Square Garden. It doesn't matter how resourceful you are in your ticket search, it's the luck of the draw.

I guess my luck just runs close to 100%? I resent the statement it is all luck. I WORKED very hard to get tickets, hell, I skipped one place because it was loaded with scalplers at the front of the line. If you arent willing to beat the scalpers at their game, you shouldnt complain. Like I said most people never consider it could be they arent doing something right. besides, is the rational that if all the scalpers all went away, then everyone would get tickets? That is a dream, anyways ticket brokerage (legal transfer of tickets, not scalping) is perfectlly legal in my area, and it should be. They work hard (most, some are scum) in this business just like people do in other businesses. Besides, all people in my line got tickets because they were at the RIGHT location. I know it was not LUCK that I was at the RIGHT location. It always seems to be that way, gee it couldnt be persistence could it?

Well I'll be buying Alpine Valley tickets, but I know where NOT to go to buy tickets. I had to buy tickets for a Tim McGraw concert in Milwaukee the same time all the Buffett tickets were going on sale. Needless to say, I drove 90 minutes cause there were no concerts happening near the town. I got there 20 minutes early, was the only one that wanted to buy tickets. But when they searched for the concert they couldn't find it, then they called ticketmaster to see what the problem was and the employees logged onto the wrong "system". Then they couldn't find the username and password to do that so I finally got to buy the tickets 10 minutes after going on sale. Well, I'm 10 rows from the very back. So be sure your ticketmaster agents know what they're doing!!!

non, take an arrogance pill. LIPH had a perfectly legitimate point, and many of us had a network trying to get into tickets today, and the one who did was LUCKY, and would be the first to admit it (&, in fact, did to me today). You've been lucky (as have I always been on the internet or by phone), and I got skunked today. One of these days, it will happen to you, too, and you won't be quite so full of yourself.
&btw, I think you meant rationalE, not rational........the latter would refer to having some sense.}

I never said if scalpers went away everyone would get tickets. What I did say was that it would be easier for real fans to get tickets if scalpers and brokers didn't get so many. And let me ask you a question. In an earlier post you said you got to the TM outlet at 2:30AM and got accosted by a drunk. In your last post you state that you were in the RIGHT location (your CAPS, not mine). Now, most people I know who go to TM outlets carry cash. If you had been mugged instead of merely being accosted would you still feel so smug about being in the RIGHT location?
wd --
Thanks for the defense, but I think this guy's main problem is a sore arm from patting himself on the back all day.

Anon - Excellent Points !!!! I too am tired of those who rant about TM and brokers being the sole reason they didn't get tickets when the only effort they put in is sitting at a computer and trying or calling an 800 number (and competing with tens of thousands of others doing the same). Take some accountability, do some research, put in some effort. If circumstances mean that you can't go somewhere and "camp out" for tickets, then go the broker route for your tickets. I've done both, and appreciate the fact that I can get tickets via a broker when for one reason or another I've been unable to camp out for tickets, and I'd like to note that I'm firmly on the side of most arguments that Mr. Scott and Anonymous (143.199.125.10) have made on these boards regarding the services that brokers provide. Gone are the days that you could by tickets without a lot of effort. Demand FAR exceeds supply ... surprise! I arrived at 2:00 in the afternoon the day before tickets went on sale last year and was 5th in line. I got crappy seats (loge) at Merriweather. What did I do? Picked up better seats via a broker and vowed to be first in line this year. I arrived at 8:15am Friday morning, was the first, established the ticket list and ran the operation until 10:00am Saturday when tickets went on sale. If arriving at 8:15am the day before had not been good enough to be first in line, then I'd have blamed myself and vowed to be there even earlier next year. Sure it's hard work and my sleep patterns are now horribly off (why else would I be posting at 4:00am?), but I have excellent seats this year at Nissan, and as always had a damn good time camping out with fellow parrotheads for 26 hours. People, do some research, do your homework, put some effort in. I've been going to Buffett shows since 1978 and have never been shut out for tickets, and I never intend to be. See y'all at Nissan.

Can I invite all those who got shut out on the Right Coast to come out to the Left Coast since we can seem to sell out a show here! Sure the Saturday Irvive show will probably sell out, but I just spent last weekend in the Bay Area and saw Bubba twice, neither show was sold out. Last year only the Saturday shows in So. Cal. sold out and it's not that hard to find tickets in the lot if you go early enough to the sold out shows. San Diego and Irvine are a little more then an hour's beautiful drive apart. And the weather isn't that bad in May. So come party us in Cali!
I got tickets for Coors yesterday and notice a tragic injustice at my local TM outlet. The jester working the computer (Tower, Sports Arena) claimed no more reserved seats were left. When I got home I found decent reserves still available. This didn't affect me because we planned to get lawn tixs. But the jester was too lazy to look, he just kept keying in lawn!
Finz up!
